Hi everyone ! I have been gone from my "experience diary" for so long. It's not that I have a problem or something ,it's because that I'm not so good on writing and come here writing same stuff everyday .Btw , I'm doing fine and I'm finished with my lengthening ! Without serious complications.
The problem I have is 3cm ballerina both legs, left foot is pointing inwards, right foot is inversion.

A week ago was my third visit to Russia , I flew straight to moscow and I will tell you that the travel was the worst, my legs was very stiff from sitting many hours and I was on a wheelchair all the way. I was staying for 3 days ,Dr.Bagirov came on the third day, It was pretty bad because when he came it looked that he was in a hurry and we only spent time examing my legs about 2 hours. However when i stayed in Moscow I took some x-rays and Ct scan, after my doctor saw my x-ray he told me that my bones was straight and strong and I would even do 9 centimeters, but I told him about my problem that my left foot was pointing inwards , he told me they needed to do a correction  and so the did, they did it by moving the lengthening rods little to the sides after that my left foot is better, after that he said that I shouldn't lengthen more and I should be focusing about my right foot and ballerina. He told me the total length that i jave distracted is almost 8.5 cm and I was happy about it.

So now it's the time for the second stage of the lengthening ! The consolidation phase! Dr.Bagirov told me that It would take me about 3 months until my bones are fully healed and I could remove my external fixator.  I think that 8cm and some millimeters took me 5 months and I can't even walk without crutches yet , I wonder when but I think that the walking will be better after my bones have healed.

I must admit that the ballerina was mostly my fault because sometime I was lazy. Maybe if I was stretching more I would have prevented 1 or two cm of ballerina and have only 1 cm instead.

Staying at home on the distraction phase hasn't been a problem for me (if not counting when I needed to travel to moscow) but about the pins or other problems it was ok for 5 months. I'm not saying that staying at home far away from doctor is good, bit it is maybe because I was lucky. Even if I stayed in moscow I think that my doctor would not have the time with me either because he's not staying at moscow all the time.

Now I'm standing at almost 173cm and I have forgot how it was when I was shorter .I remember the first time I was in Moscow meeting with my doctor , I felt that he was much taller than me but after the last visit to moscow I was standing at almost the same height as him ! It felt so good and I'm happy with my new height .I must admit that I still feel short but my new height is a lot different from my old height that is what I'm sure of.

I think it has been 6 months since my surgery ! Time has passed so fast .I stopped lengthening 2 weeks ago my legs are feeling better since then. On the right side of my right leg I had a feeling that the muscles was very tight and I was in pain when I fully stretched out my right leg but after 2 weeks it seems like it has disappeared , I could straighten my right leg with no pain . I feel like I can walk but I haven't tried. I have bad inversion on my right foot and ballerina that I need to get rid of, duck but and bent knees too.

Hello there, I think that my proportion looks Ok. It's not too bad ,my tibias was very very short before I did this surgery. But of course if I post a pic of my legs some people may judge it differently but for me they are perfect now. I may do my femurs in 3-4 years to add 3-4Cm

Ok people , I just realize  that I might have a few problems now. My left knee sometime gets a cracking sound like air bubbles in the bones, maybe I have an misalignment . My ankles hurt when walking (maybe because of the pins ). My left foot still pointing to the right(maybe from over stretched muscles) . I understand now how important it is to stay near a doctor during the lengthening so he can correct your legs time to time. As I said before my doctor doesn't have much time with me ,he's always in a hurry. Have been 7 months now since my surgery , I'm getting my x-rays next week. I still walk with crutches, I don't even know when I will be without them..

You did ~9cm, consolidation will take a lot of time. Just be patient.

bagirov never has time

samui,  you need to prepare yourself for a very long recovery

the air bubbles in the knee... As long as t doesn't hurt, you should be ok

the left foot sounds like a potential problem

the ankles...  If you still have ballerina, you might be have early stages of arthritis... My left ankle has arthritis, and ballerina is definitely very bad for the ankle joint

you're looking at a very lengthy recovery

Hi everyone , a little update with good news. Now I'm 9 months postOp ,when walking I don't feel my frames anymore my legs has become lighter too, I even took my first steps without aid last month (2 small steps) and since then it has improved . More flexibility . I had a very bad supination on my right foot but after walking a lot it has become much better now my ankles doesnt hurt anymore . My last months X-rays looked very straight and good callus. I had a very bad experience with a bone doctor too last month when I went to him to examine my x-rays and I didn't like him at all , he was still young and loud talking . He said he could not say an thing about my bones that he doesnt have experience in cosmetic bone lengthening . So I will contact a hospital in Bangkok that offers limb lengthening with a doctor namesd Dr.Porn-aneke. About my ballerina it is slightly better now but I still wear 1 inch lift in my legs and will remove half an inch at a time until my heels starts touching the floor.

I really want to upload my X-ray but I'm too lazy. Maybe next month x-ray .. So some of you can see how my bone is healing.

About pin infection . Some months ago when I had pin infection it was very bad couldn't walk very weak legs and so much pain from the pressure in the legs, but now when the bones are more healed I don't feel the pain at all when walking and my legs aren't as weak as the early pin infection and it usually gets away in only 1-2 days.

My feeling after being taller , it feels very good I feel more confident about myself but felt more better when I newly reached my height about 5 months ago. Now I feel like i'm used with my new height (I think I must be 173Cm.) I dont even remember how it was with my old height (164cm) .But even now it just feels like I want more and more but my proportion may look bad Ex.sitting height and arms etc.

10 months post -Op . I'm starting to recover really well , now I have started to walk 3 times a day after meals and it is super effective. Now I can walk completely without aid on flat floor, but it's still swinging hips walk. My ankles have become straighter , ballerina on my right foot is much better but my left side calf is still tight after much walking but not my left leg. My last X-rays seemed also good may be 2-3 months left, I'm still waiting for the response from Dr.Bagirov.

Hey thank you Goodlucktomylegs and everyone for posting.

Now it is 3.00 am. I woke up and now I can't sleep so I'm deciding to write how I feel since it has been 1 year since my operation being inside my house in my backyard inside the fences of my house for most of the time trying to recover, exercising, stretching ,walking . It has affected me both physically and mentally can't wait until I'm fully recovered and go out and live a normal life with longer legs, but I'm not loosing patience.

I wake up every morning with my leg muscles very tight but it goes away when I stretch and walk I have even heard that it will be like that for a long time. I'm recovering a little at a time I can walk without crutches really good now with just little swinging hips left, I think it is because of my right ankle that need more stretching but I am working on it everyday. Maybe I will visit my doctor before removing my frames to be sure everything is ok.

This is my X-ray 12 months post Op Left leg-Right leg , if anyone have experience can you tell me when approximately I can be off them? I haven't heard back from my doctor yet.

I've done this operation before and seen at least 8 X-rays of my legs. Your left leg is good, and may need 1-2 months more to play it safe. Heck, I could even remove it and stabilise it with a cast. But your right leg will take another 3-5 months. Not sure. Try putting more pressure on your right leg when you walk!

Hi aussieboy and thank you for your comment ! I was expecting 3-5 months too , it's better to be safe but I will keep my frames on than to put my legs in a cast. You are right I need to put more weight on my right leg but I have always have the fear of breaking my pins though.

Big news , I removed both my frames on the 10th October , total time in frames 15 months, removed them with anestesia  and stayed at hospital for 1 night felt no pain.  Since I removed my frames I don't need to suffer from the pain on my pin sites anymore it was like my body started to resist it with water running out of pin sites all the time. Now 8 days has passed since removal and everything is going fine no bending or height loss. I'm still on crutches but can easily walk without them but I still have to wear 3cm shoes because of tightness from my 1cm ballerina on my left foot , I don't know when it is safe to ditch the crutches but better to take it easy. The first day walking without frames I was very scared i had almost had all of my weight on the crutches but it goes away day by day and I'm beginning to put more weight on my legs . It feels so light and no longer I have to feel the pressure from the frames. I will post X-rays from the day of the removal after.

Hi, TIBIKE 200. Yes I'm happy with my final proportions, I tried some skinny jeans earlier and it looked fine. I might have slightly long shinbones after 9cm but it's not ugly . I also asked opinions of some close people of mine and they said it looked ok with my new height.

Walking conclusion , from reading my diary again i realise that it took me almost 6 month from my very first unaided walk until now to walk almost normal.(I use the word" almost normal "because i still have tightness in my left leg with 1 cm ballerina, if not for that I could walk normally.) Now I walk with shoes and I can walk like normal and my hips doesn't swing anymore but as said my ankles still have limited motion makes it hard to walk down the stairs. Last month when I had my frames on I could almost jog too, but will not try now when frames are newly removed but maybe after 6 month I will try to run. As you can see I took everything carefully  and slowly I never did something myself without my doctor telling me to do. I do not regret my LL journey , and I'm very happy with my outcome and the choices that I chose all along till this day.
