Consolidation time
« on: July 09, 2015, 04:23:24 PM »

My height is 179,my weight is 75kg. Age 20
I am sport guy,i can dunk with footbal(soccer)ball,i meet only 3-4 guy who are faster than me.
Playing basketball 4-5 days at week,2-4 days do about 150-200  pushups per day, 2-4 days do about 100 pullups per day.

So wonder would my period of consolidation be faster than usually?I considering to do 5 cm on tibia with Dr Mitkovic.

You sound healthy but it depends on how your body reacts to surgery. For example you could still get bone infections, non-union or worst case amputation which would really mess up consolidation. Or everything could be fine and it goes quickly. Only way to predict is after first few xrays.

i was 181 and 83kg before the surgery.. so similar to you.. i was very fast and worked out regularly.. it helps with consolidation a little bit, because your use to training, u will be more determined to recover and you will begin walking earlier which causes quicker consolidation than if you werent walking. it will also be easier to start walking cause ur not too heavy and u obviously have upper body strength which will also make things easier.. if u do 5cm with no complication ull prob have the frames of in 7-8 months from surgery

9 - 10 months until frames are off is more realistic. But maybe 3-4 months if you do LON/LATN.

with fast consolidation 7 months.. 10 is quite unlikely but yeah its better to expect the worst..

KiloKhan did 6 cm in 1 year. That is actually pretty average.
7 cm in one year would be really fast...

Complications are regular things. If you dont have complications then you are an exception.

is it possible to lose height when frames are removed? lets say if your bone hasnt consolidated enough and can compress?
