Super girl. All these celebrities don't care about their height. Most of them lie about their height. Look at Tom Cruise at 5'6, Brad Pitt at 5'10 or Emilla Clarke at 5'2. I do have a life which I am very happy withh (apart from height). All I am saying you should be a bit more sensitive they way you express yourself. Don't take my words harshly

I am sure some users here who are 180+ CM are lacking in other departments (eg, looks, money) and think that height is the issue, but it is not............ Above that height, height takes a backseat.

i doubt that any 180+ guy thinks there height is an issue for women..  i was 181 before and if i was fat slob, i wouldnt think that doing this would automatically make be able to be god with women.. im not sure y u pointed the finger at 180+ guys anyway.. all the people that have talked themselves up about how handsome and crap they are well below average height before surgery..

by the way if ur a runway model arent u worried about having scars??

As I said, part-time! I am in university now. For crying out loud.  ??? And one question, why are so many hollywood actors and actresses still so highly paid even though they are in their 30s and 40s. What is their net worth?? At least $5 million, 20 million, 500 million. Get a life! I was rejected for runway sometimes because i was too short. I am only 173, and I got commments about my leg being too short. Too short for certain apparel.

175 cm also known as 5'9". Just thinking that my height is below that makes me so angry and disgusted.

171 cm, 5'7.5. If I do LL, I'll probably aim for 173cm, around 6.5cm.

5'8 definitely would not even feel short based on my geographic location, 5'7 I will probably not consider LL either, maybe.

On one hand I wonder why a 5'9.5 guy would do this to him. That isn't a short height in any country, unless all your friends are basketball players.

Hey I’m 1/2 a centimeter below 5’9.5 and I’m doing this because my older brother was physically and emotionally  abusive to me my whole life. He is 6’2 and on top of that my parents and family always praised him for his height, something he never earned. My mom always teased my dad about his height (same as mine) and both parents would say things like “ why aren’t you as tall as your friends?” I live in a very rich white area in the US and wouldn’t be surprised if the average height was an inch or two taller.

I don’t need to be the same height or taller than my brother I just want to be 6ft or taller. Just to be clear I’m not doing this for my parents or to do some dumb   like beat up my older brother. I’m doing this for me and my own happiness!

I'm 172cm tall and if it wasn't for the fact that almost everyone I pass on the street, even older people are taller than me, I wouldn't decide to have surgery. That's why I would like to have this 5cm more to be just average.

From here in the netherlands, I would say anything below 1m77 (5'10) is noticably short After that you get into a fairly normal range. I am 1.72 evenening-1.73 morning, and I would like to gain about 6 cm from surgery.

Yea it's a completely different situation with Dutch people compared to like a city in the us . Dutch people are tall as fuk so I completely understand why a 5'9 person would feel short

Everything is relative

For me, it's 5'9. Still short but at that point, surgery is too much of a risk.

Hmm, I thought the average height would be a bit different in the Netherlands - I mean higher. Here where I live, that is in Poland, I can say that anything below 178cm is short, and I still have the impression that among the younger ones the average is about 182cm. With my 172cm, I'm screwed.

The average height for young males is the nl is 1.85. Looking purely at ethnic dutch males, the average would likely be slightly higher.
At 1.78 you'd definitely be on the short side, but I'd say its not so bad that you will be known and referred to as the short dude. I know a bunch of people around that height, and it looks sort of alright, to me at least.
When someone is like 1.75, I think it's more noticable and the person is firmly into short territory.
At my height (1.72) it is surely the bottom 1% if ethnic people are excluded. It is extremely rare to see a dutch person shorter than me.

I guess its up to personal judgement.

just wondering what height people would have needed to have been to not undergo LL.

for me I am 164.5cm, if I was 168cm I would not be doing this operation, I would simply wear nike air to bring me to 169cm.

I have a friend who is 167.5, he wears a 1cm lift to 168.5cm and said he is not willing to do LL, with that being said he said he is an 'okay' height with his 1cm lift.

interestingly I will end up 169.5cm post LL so I guess it's good to end up taller than I needed to be to be happy, also I will be wearing nike air to 170.5cm anyway if that matters.
Maybe 180 cm, being that tall I would have not so worried about my height.

Note: at this moment I'm only a "pretender", I want to know more about this interesting procedure. Hopping to become 185 cm (6'1'') from 174 cm (5'8 ½''), but it is too expensive.
My sitting height is 92½ - 94 cm (36''½ 37''), my length of legs is 81 cm (32'') and my armspan is 180 cm (70'' 7/8).

I'm 179cm daytime and I'm pretty sure that if I were 181cm I wouldn't be here.

I'm 172cm daytime and I agree. Well 181cm morning I'd say it's not worth it

Good question, I'd say a little bit over 180 and I would never had developed height neurosis. If I was 183CM the thought that I was short might have never occured to me and I would never have found this forum, funny that 5CM can make such a big difference to someones life.

Now that I've already become more or less obsessed with height I think at least 185CM with good proportions would help me put these thought behind me.

I think that is wthin reach, almost at least.

I am 183/84 and have height neurosis. Want to be 188/90

I'm male, 17 and 157cms. That's 5'2.
I wouldn't do LL if I were 163cms+.

Unlike most other men, I don't mind being a short guy (probably because I love every other thing I have) but I find 5'2 to be abnormally short. There's 5'7 men that say they're happy with 5'9 and 5'10 men saying 6' would make them happy. I also found a 6'1 guy doing this to become 6'4 and thought he was really stupid. I guess we just want more than what we have, but at 5'2 it doesn't feel like much of a choice. (Note that the average height in India for the middle class and onwards is probably 5'6)

I'm hoping I'll grow a bit in a year. If not, I know what I must do.

What this guy said its the fking answer to almost all of life mental problems. We want what We dont have

We live in a delusion where a 5'4 man still say 5'9 is still short. People will never be satisfied with this mentality. LL to 6'0 go ahead if you think that

By still short I meant Lil less than average. I'll be very happy at 5'9. If I were 5'9 I wouldn't have even thought about this surgery.

Any references about that?

Personally, I wouldn't have done LL if I were more than 1.73. However, now I am more than that I still see that there are reasons for an 1.73-1.75 cm man to do LL but much less than being less than 1.70.
After 1.80 though, regardless the country, LL is only for madmen.
