How hard is it to get a Russian visa these days?
« on: May 28, 2015, 09:17:06 PM »

Has the political climate deteriorated between the US/UK/Etc and Russia enough for it to impede getting a visa? Nobody from  an anglo country has been to Russia for LL since the whole Crimea thing, right?

Yeah I was considering Russia but I'm afraid because of this political issue. Geopolitics sucks.

Curious about this as well. It does seem rather difficult, and I forget which Russian doctor it happened under, but there was one patient that was deceived by the clinic or something and he was charged with a visa violation even though they told him not to worry. If anyone remembers this, feel free to let me know or correct my memory if I'm mixing up what happened.

With all the visa difficulties with Russia, I think those on a relatively small budget (sub $30,000 USD) should consider India instead.

The trouble with Mitkovic is that he barely replies to any inquiries. Most probably won't ever hear back from him.

Yes the clinic made a false statement in the invitation letter, but this was solved and the patient did not have to pay anything.

If you want to get a russian visa you can. There are people coming to Russia (Barinov clinic) all the time. You may think whatever you want about russians but they are not stupid. They know that if you come to their country you will leave some money there. So you will get a visa.
