Dr mitkovic - how much money you'll need
« on: May 16, 2015, 07:52:14 PM »

Just thought id provide information on the rough amount that you will need to get through the process when doing it with dr mitkovic.

- food (70 euros/ week)
- accommodation in hotel (500 euros/month recommended) or private apartment (250 euros/month max incl bills)
- surgery 9300 euros (includes 10 day hospital stay )
- transportation to and from hospital for changing of bandages and trips to x ray place (5 euros/ week
- x rays - 1 every 2 weeks during lengthening and 1 a month after that (50 euros per x ray of both legs and includes a cd with measuring tool to accurately measure distraction gap)

Total
For 7 months stay (staying in hotel)

9300(surgery) + 1960(food) + 3500(accommodation) + 500(x rays) + 140(transportation)

= 15,400 euros

For 7 months (staying in private apartment) 15,400 - 1,750

= 13,650 euros

To be safe add another 2000 euros to these totals just incase you encounter a rare complication which requires an addition surgery

Wheelhair 250 euros and walker 60 euros - this money will be refunded to you when you return them

wow it really adds up when you take the rest into account, almost £12,000 in my currency.

let's hope dr solomin gets more patient diaries.

I noticed you only stated 7 months stay, would it not be wiser to calculate 8 months stay as you said before 8 months is what you'd need for 5cm on average, I think it may also be a good idea to give a 10 month and 12 month stay price up if people are doing 6 or 7 cm.

This happens with all all doctors. Betz, Gucihet Paley... all quote their numbers and then its much more because you've to add all these expenses. Those are really expensive but good (except from betz, perhaps). Others are also expensive and we dont know if they're good. So... go for Mitkovic if you like him.

That is still a really low price for LL, even when you add it all up.  And you don't have to deal with Russian visa issues.

By the information I've given people will be able to work out what to add for each extra month probably allow 600/ month extra you stay includes everything you can think of.. .. I researched a lot before I left and pretty much what I worked out is similar to what it's been..made sure I had quite a bit extra tho just to be safe.. It doesn't matter where u go it's going to add up.. U need to eat right lol.. To be honest I think less than 16,000 euros including everything is a bargain.. I came with about 21,000 euros.. I had a complication which was my own fault which set me back another 1,200 euros.. I've paid for my accommodation up until mid June and I have a bit over 6,100 euros left. I've been here 3 months for another 5 months here I'll need another 2500 euros( as I've already paid for the next months rent) that'll leave me with 3600 euros(8 months stay).. If I need to stay longer I have plenty there.. Also if I have to stay longer I will stay somewhere much cheaper as I'll be completely mobile by then.. Considering I've had a rare complication I figure 17,500 for 7 months (allowing 2000 extra for unexpected complications) is plenty.. 600/month for every extra month... I wouldn't  come here with anything less than 20000 euros to be honest.. This way you will completely 100% safe with money left over at the end..

yeah that's true, what price was your flights and where did you come from.

I suppose I could find out prices myself, but maybe you have special information about traveling to this country that could help me in the future.

But yeah, I know mitkovik was the cheapest on the old forum.

Sorry I meant I have 6900 euros left so I should still have 4400 left after 8 months... I can't share those details where u flew from as I am extremely private.. But assuming u r from England as you said ur currency is £ than it would cost you anywhere from 100 to 200 pounds from there.. It's only 2 hour flight I think

oh okay, sounds like a good option, along with the ease of a visa.

dr solomin still has the potential to be half that price, if we can find a hotel near the hospital, but mitkovik sounds like a good option as well.

overall my presented height wouldn't change anyway, as I wear 8cm lifts, if i did get LL, i would just wear 3cm lifts instead, its just that I don't really like the 8cm lifts for various reasons, the 3cm lifts are easy to walk in and feel like flats.

with that said not sure i can be fussed doing it, especially being 8 months, if it was 4 months I'd do it, this entire time i thought the process lasted 6 months.

How do you know where to find an apartment and who to contact? Are English skills good?

He uses monolateral fixators for the procedure, they are not monorials but monolaterals, becuase pins are not just orientated in one straight line but in three dimensions, can be to prevent misalignments, pt can be done even foro yourself.
