lumiere, congratulations. Your proportions are really good.

I wanted to know, how did you manage a ballerina problem? I have got this problem in august, and it is still continuing ((( though I walk more, and do many streching exercises. Now a little better than it was in august, but this problem disturbing me a lot.

Hi NB,

Thank you for your comment about my props :)

Ho many centimeters did you lengthen, with which method, and when did you finish the lenghening process? In my case, I had a little ballerina foot when I was close to the end of the lengthening process, but it has been becomed better day by day until I stop lengthening.
My only exercises has been walking as much as possible, standing on the wall with straight legs, etc..

You are welcome, I just told the truth ))

My lengthen is 6.8 cm. I did with Ilizarov method, in Baku. My surgery was on 5 May, 2015 and I stopped lengthen on 19 September, 0,5 mm per day. My ballerina began during my lengthen process and still continuing. at the beginning was about 6-7 cm, now about 3-4. When I walk a lot, my heels touch the ground, but I got an infection, that is why, I cant walk a lot.

Cure your infection, it would be useful if you are not walking in this period to keep the foot in place with a rubber band (day and night).
After that, simply walk as much as you can, stand on a wall until you get your feet touching the ground, and things will improve day by day. If that doesn't happens, after a couple of months, you may consider the Achille tendons surgery.

Thanks for your advice. I hope I won't need to do surgery for it. After my surgery I am afraid of any pain (

Hi,

i had my frames off. I'm now wearing casts similar to soccer shin guards, and I have to wear those casts for a couple of months. The first two weeks using cruches too, no cruches and just casts from the third week. I'm really scared of walking without ilizarov, because I saw my x-rays and the new bone in the gap is not as "white" as the other bone.
My tibiae look pretty long, but the effect is not that bad, I look kind of slender. I measured myself this morning, I am 172 tall, so I would say that I am 171/172.
I am satisfied of the result. I will post some picture in a couple of day.

Keep in touch,

Lumiere

Hey lumiere,
how are your legs? Can you walk with crutches?
You are very lucky, no complication during your adventure. Does the total cost cover unexpected surgeries?
Hope you are fine, my friend  :)

Hi Oniria!

Everything is going well, I have no pain at all and I can walk pretty normally, with crutches just to not overload my "new" legs.
I'm not posting a picture because I'm waiting to be allowed to stand without protection casts, but I will do it soon.
I think that, if complications would occour, surgeries would be payed by italian public healt service, but I'm not sure of that because I fortunally didn't have that need.
I'll keep you informed once I have relevant news :)

I have my last consultation in the middle of december, after that I think I'll be allowed to walk without casts.

Lumiere,

I started my  journey same time you have yours and I have not yet taken my frame off. I did 8cm,  I have little bit of umbrella I can walk without assistance and it has been 9 months. I will start a diary soon.  I was hoping that you can post your X ray Before you took your frame off so I can compare my xray before I take mine off.

Hi guys, I'm sorry if I have been out of board for such a long time... I'm alive!

I am 170, more or less... so I have gained 6.5 cm... I will be able to run soon, I'm just waiting for a reasonable weather...

I'm not feeling tall at all honestly, my life hasn't changed that much honestly, but I would say that is better than before.

Scars are okay, they are fading slowing but fading... Disproportion is not noticeable at all, if I could go back, I would do 2 cms more, I think I'm really proportioned right now.

Yeah I think if I do tibs, I'm going with Catagni. I've been speaking with him and really like him so far. And his credentials speak for themselves.

I know he also does Precice for tibias too. That still scares me a bit, but I can't be in frames for months and months. I might just take a gamble, but first need to speak with a few of his patients that have done internal tibias.

Just need 3cm more...5'9"+ at night and I'll be happy.

How many patients did he do internal tibias for cosmetic reasons?

Walking is not a problem, only from time to time i get tired during longs and fast walkings...
I can run doing stars up and down, I can stretch and touch my feet, I still havnt tried regular runnings, but I whink I can do it, I will probably just be tired after something like 100 meters.. For that, Im just waiting to a better weather. I have tried swimming, no problems at all. I would say that I am still recovering, but I am in an acceptable state right now, and things can go to be only better from day to day.

Hello Lumiere,

How's your running now? What makes you run slower or tired quickly? Do you think you'll be able to do long distance running in the future?

I wonder what it really is that stops people from getting back to their athletic abilities. Extended muscles that never adapt?

Cheers
