Yes I would, the surgery it's a little bit expensive but I'm happy with my choice up to now..

What do you guys think about my proportions? I think I could go with 2 cm more, going to about 7...

Does dr catagni perform Latn?
And what about your opinion  for time frame if i did 5cm external or latn with this doctor?

I think your proportions look fine. Just be aware if you do more cm you'll have very long tibia for a man your height. How long were your tibia and femur before surgery?

He STRONGLY prefer Ilizarov, this means that he will push you on doing Ilizarov... But he also lenghen tibiae with ISKD and an hybrid method, in which you have an internal rod and an esternal axial lengthening frame, that is removed after the lengthening, so during the consilodation there is just the internal rod (don't know the name of this technique). Btw, if you ask him via email, he will send you a pdf document with all the information you need.

It is very easy.
Now you just measure current tibias length by x ray then minus number that you have lengthened.

I think I'll be done with lengthening in 30 days from now... After that, I think the consolidation period could be of maybe 4 or 5 months... I hope 4! In the case of 4 months for consolidation, the total time in frames would be kind of 8 months...

Hey guys!

I'm pretty fine, finished lengthening two days ago, I reached +65 mm and I'm satisfied with my new height. I hope to not regret to have not reached 70 mm or more, but now I think my proportions are not too weird and that 5/10 mm more would not change too much.

I have my consultation with Catagni next Monday, I'll keep you informed.

I think 6.5 on tibs is plenty, if you really want more you can always go for femurs!

Did you need the achilles lengthening or no? I hear Catagni likes to do it.

Buona Sera e Buona Fortuna You have more patience than me. 12 years ago I had Ilizarov in Australia for correction of bowing and four months was all I could take with these big external fixators. Wish I had the patience to finish LL with Ilizarov all those years ago but now looking for monorail with Mitkovic.

My ballerina foot are completely gone away, now, after 7 days I didn't lengthened more, I can easily stand barefoot with my foot completely touching the ground. I'm thinking about try to do one centimeter more, but I'm not so sure of that... Tomorroy I'm going to have my consultation, I'll ask if it could be good to do some cyclette at home and what he thinks about doing one centimeter more...

See ya!

Sorry for the absence.

I had my consultation and Catagni modifies the Ilizarov frames in order to correct the disalignment. Now I'm correcting the deformity, I'm close to the end, this is a picture of my left Ilizarov frame with the new mechanical joint:

[/url]

As you can see, rings are not parallel right now, this is because of the correction.

I'm pretty fine and Catagni told me I'll be frames free in september or october.

If you have any question just ask!

See ya,

Hey guys,

this is just to share my LL experience with dott. M. Catagni (Lecco, Italy). Below some information:

Initial height: 163.5cm
Date of operation: 5th March 2015
Start lenghening at 20th March
Lengthening ratio: 0.75mm/day (I have one ostheotomy in my tibiae and one in my fibulae)
Target lengthening: minimum 6cm, max 7.5 cm

I'm now at 29mm.

Lumiere

Hello sir, any updates?

Hey guys,

I could say I'm okay, I'm having my first walkings without cruches, and I tipically use just one cruch... On 5th August I'm having a consultation with Catagni, I think I'll have my frames off at the end of September, it's so close and I really can't wait for it.

Does Catagni have any opinion or judgement on proportion and ratio with tibiae?
