well specifically I was stating it is in the category where girls wish you were taller, but your not considered short. the real discrimination becomes exponentially worse under 5"7, iv never been called short.

2.5 inches under average it gets worse  -----    average no discrimination  ------  2.5 inches above average, going above this gives diminishing returns.

ie. for an average of 5"9.5 like in America. the corresponding values are (5"7 ----- 5"9.5 ------ 6"0)

basically girls don't think your average at 1 height(and normal) and then think 1cm lower you are worthless and short.

there is a category between average and short.

this category is the border separating exponential decline in value due to height.

this category is the category of it would be nice if you are taller.

yea seriously. don't get me wrong, I can see it(them wanting a guy who is taller ie 6"0 preferable) in a subset of the girls I meet, but iv never been called short.

in fact people have blatantly come up to my face to tell me "you know your not short, but it would be nice if you were taller"

well you have to take the value for all ages, this selective 17-19 sample doesn't work. women look for normalization, so they don't judge your height based on those people of similar ages, they judge it based on all social contact.

this is the same psychological phenomenon that causes people who are 6"5 but are surrounded by family who are all 7"0 to feel short. its about normalization.

however im just clarifying context surrounding how women judge , it does not negate your point.

 (also army statistics would perhaps not represent the country. who joins the army? who is to wimpy to not join, who is not allowed/allowed to join. im sure this would skew statistics. )

IF 179 is the average for all men in your country and not just for children of 17-19. then the following thresholds become.............

  5"8(below this exponentially accelerating discrimination) ---- 5"10.5 average (179cm) ------- 6"1 (above this diminishing returns for women)

No no I said that the average in my region appears to be above 179, the fact that the average for 17-19yo was 181 proofs this. There are no statistic that only apply for my region but only for the whole country.

Women are no reason for ll at all so every argument based on the attraction to women is not really important to me. I just prefere the tall looks of taller people. I obviously mostly compare myself to the men in my age since all my friends belong to this group of people so 181 is more important than the general average of 179 for the whole country and not my region which appears to be slightly taller.

I think it is silly to say that: women are no reason for ll.

in fact if you look at social standing for men and women, a lot of social power has to do with how attractive and successful you are to the other sex, if you are not attractive to the opposite sex you will have no social power. a lot(if not almost all) of social power rides on how much the opposite sex want you.

people who get LL for a specific girl are silly. that I can agree on.

however LL is about improving social power. and it runs in tandem with manipulating your self to being more desirable to the opposite sex.

people who get LL for a specific girl are silly. that I can agree on.

however LL is about improving social power. and it runs in tandem with manipulating your self to being more desirable to the opposite sex.

Agree with this. If you're within at least 1 standard deviation of the mean (even though it's quite a difference from the 30% or so percentile from the 50% percentile), it's not that bad. When you're outside 1 standard deviation from the mean, that's where things start getting really bad. At my new height, I'm still short, but at least I'm at the 35th percentile or so for men, and taller than like I think 70% of women. My other good qualities will now be able to compensate and balance things out (well, they did when I was 166 too, but only to a smaller degree, I suppose).

No, I don´t think it´s silly, because in my case this really is no reason to do it. I don´t expect any better chances when approaching women whatsoever. In fact I don´t really care because I already have a good time with girls, I´m not short neither am I bad looking nor poor, it´s just that I want to this for myself. I wouldn´t mind if this would be a benefit but I don´t care if it´s not the case. Girls, power or an improved sex life is really nothing I have on the back of my mind. I´m not even 20 so this is stuff I might think about when I´m older

I really have nothing in mind besides the height gain. I don´t like the idea of being average or below average, all my role models are taller and when I was a child I always depicted myself as a tall guy.
