Please, could you clarify your case? Did you have LL in one leg or both?

No you can't. Just compress your over-lengthened leg.

If you did LL in only one leg, it's normal than the other leg is shorter (unless you had a previous limb length discrepancy)

No it's not. You'd usually need at least 3 weeks for the 'growth plate' to fuse. What device did you use for lengthening? With externals it's very easy - just turn the screws in the opposite direction, 'closing' the rings.

Yeah, well, then it's easy, just do I what I said. Compressing bone regenerate also improves consolidation time.

this is dumb, everybody Is telling him to do crap (except 1 guy) when they don't know what the fk his measurements are.

listen dude. get a full leg x ray for both your tibia and femur. then use the x ray to determine if your not just paranoid and/or just feeling off kilter because your body now has a different biomechanics to deal with.

if your x ray shows discrepancy then go to your doctor show him and say "what the fk doctor" then he will instruct you on the correct way to approach the issue and probably say "sorry my bad".

or the x ray will show nothing is wrong.

your entire life your biomechanics have been developed to use a different set of muscles in a certain way, your body is learning how to walk again, so at this point in time we don't know if your just paranoid as all leg lengtheners are OR if there is indeed a legitimate issue.

the only thing that is clear is this. do nothing until you get an xray then consult your doctor. it woud help tremendously if you can get a digital copy where a CD will determine your leg length. this gives you all the power because a lot of doctors don't bother to tell you anything and the rhetoric will be "don't worry everything is fine" as they glance at your x ray not even paying it attention or bothering to measure it properly.

a lot of doctors(depending on your doctor) will even go so far as to tell you both legs are the same length when in fact this is code for "what I meant was both legs are in the normal range for leg length discrepancy" , and again this "normal discrepancy level" is often stretched by lazy doctors.

Lol. I didn't tell him the amount he needs to compress. I figured he's smart enough to measure it himself, which isn't that hard and doesn't require an x-ray. All you have to do is sit down and put your knees together then carefully measure their height.

if i were you... and got measured under 1 cm difference, id just leave it as is if i were  already consolidated

i was measured, around 4 mm,  not a big deal, and this was told to me by one of the best doctors in the world

1 cm is of course, different

1 cm discrepancy isn't actually -1cm height, more like 0.4-0.6mm

btw 1 cm discrepancy isn't much to worry because it ain't noticeable and doesn't affect your movement
