What is the ideal male height?
« on: January 26, 2015, 06:20:53 AM »

I vote for about 6'0 to 6'1 (for the United States). It's taller than average, but not so tall to be outside of normal. What do you think?

I vote 5"11, just a personal preference through experience, considering I live in relatively diverse areas.

it depends where you live. In US, 6' and above is ideal because of that number "6". For the rest of the world, 5'11 or 1m8 is ideal.
I am not sure about women in Germany or Netherland, but in France and southern European countries, many times I heard women say that 1m8 and above is ideal. There is no such thing as an absolute ideal, but if you are over 1m8, I feel like you could travel anywhere in the world without being called short. Thats good enough for me.

Mine is 6ft 2. Its the tallest I would want to be but at 5ft 7 I would need 7 inches so I will settle for 6ft 1

I also think it's 1.80. The average in my country is 1.72, but I travel a lot and at 1.80 I would feel great pretty much anywhere. So my vote goes for 1.80 (which is also my target).

5'10 for me. Taller than that and it becomes more difficult to pack on the muscle enough to look solid.

Between 190-195CM is perfect but anything between 185-200CM is good.

If I could pick I'd wanna be 194-196 assuming I would have good proportions still.

I wouldn't lengthen more than 10CM total though because I think proportions are important and 188-9CM is definitely tall enough for me.

Actually I would say 5'9"... Not too big, not too small. 1.75 m is just like a meter and a 3/4 of it. 2 meters could be great but it is just way too tall.

Between 1.90-1,95? OMG. I am a girl and I don't think so! Maybe in Sweden and other Scandinavian countries, where there are many girls who are 1.75 and taller, it's possible, but not in Southern Europe.
The average height required for male models is between 1.83 and 1.90, but, from my point of view, that's too much. I would avoid dating men as tall as that, because they would make me feel "petite", even if I am not petite, or won't be anymore, because I will be 1.70 after LL.
From an aesthetic perspective, I find that 1.83  is very appealing. My brother is 1.83 and women are mad at him, since he is also very handsome (green eyes, brown hair, athletic build...), but I don't like standing next to him, because, at my original height of 1.64, I feel short.  After LL that will be OK. ;)
Finally, I would like to say that, contrary to your beliefs, there are beautiful women for whom height is not as important as you indicate. I don’t wanna lie: being tall is important to make a girl feel protected and many girls wouldn't date men who are shorter or the same height than them. But if you have other qualities, anything within average is OK. You don’t need to be 1.80 or 1.90.

I've always wondered this: would a guy's height matter if he was strong. For example, Ed Coan was only 5'6, but he was the strongest man in the world during his lifting career.

I am from sweden actually.

Why do you think 183CM+ is too much?

From what I understand most women want to feel like a shrimp next to their boyfriend. If you think 183CM is too tall then you won't like swedish men very much.

We'll all be even freakier after we've lengthened our legs.

Also don't think that's true at all, I see a lot of people that height who look just like everyone else only bigger.

it depends on how much you lengthen, most people with short height that do leg lengthening has better proportions even than those natural 190+

Greatest to least likelihood of getting women according to the man's height, based on articles I've read that were published by dating sites (and some "gap filling" to make a clear breakdown):

1. 6'
2. 6' 1"
3. 6' 2"
4. 6' 3"
5. 5' 11"
6. 5' 10"
7. 6' 4"
8. 6' 5"
9. 5' 9"
10. 5' 8"
11. 6' 6" and above
12. 5' 7" and below

Ok, so what's happening here... Women tend to prefer males that are 8 inches taller than them. Since the average female height is 5' 4", the preferred male height is 6'. After that, women will still prefer a taller guy to someone who is under 6', but after a certain point, they get "too tall" (after 6' 3"), at which point women prefer the taller than avg men (5' 10" and 5' 11") to the "too tall group". Finally, women prefer the avg height guys (5' 8 to 5' 10") to the very tall guys (over 6' 5"), and prefer the very tall guys to the short guys (under 5' 7")...

This scale is not confirmed by any source, but I inferred this scale based on numerous articles that I've read

I would say the sweet spot (that is realistic for most lengtheners) is that 5' 10" to 5' 11" range, followed by 5' 8" to 5' 9"

I second this^ 80% of guys who are 5ft11 out there would lie anyway and say that they are 6'. My friend who is a legit 5'11 with well built muscles got more respects and attentions from girls than any of those clumsy 6'1 guys around. Thats why I don't understand when people try to risk their healths and money just to get to that "majesty" number of 6'. It is just a number. For this, I blame on US government and their failed attempt to convert to metric system like the rest of the world. If that ever happened, I am pretty sure that people in this forum will start talking about 1m8 more than anything else Lol.

At 5"6, I can grow my hair to make myself "gain" an inch. With one surgery, I can gain 3 inches, and with lifts, I can gain about 3 inches, making me 6"1.

Really all that matters is the surroundings and one's original starting height. Even though Akash Shukla post op was only 5"2, he became an ideal man regardless.

A massive study done in the 1970s proved that those of medium height (5'9-5'11) were far more attractive than those of tall (6'1-6'4) or short (5'5-5'7) height.

Considering the study was done over 40 years ago, some things might have changed, but I could never agree more.

O yeah? I bet 80% of women would take UFC fighters GSP or Connor McGregor over any of the 6' 4" 6' 5" fighters such as stephan bonner, Jon Jones, junior dos Santos, or alistair overeem

For most women, height wouldn't matter in that case. But it is not only strength that matters. If you are powerful, height is not important (provided you are not too short).

hm , i dont agree with that, i think height is important for aesthetic, thats the most important thing. you could be a bodybuilder at 5´6 lifting 400 lbs in bench press but you wouldnt be aesthetic. height allways matters.

Yes, yes..., but I am not talking about the Mr. Universe pageant. I am talking about dating. The requirements are not the same. For a pageant you need to be aesthetically pleasing, which means being both tall and strong. For dating it is not so evident. What would women prefer: 1) a tall (not strong) guy, 2) a strong (not tall) guy or 3) a tall and strong guy? Most women would chose the third option. But are you sure women would prefer the first option over the second option? I am not sure...

it depends on the height of the man and the height of the woman.
i think that an average height woman of 5´5 will prefer a 6 foot not strong guy than a 5´6 strong guy.
a 5´6 strong guy looks fat with clothing . at 6´0 if the man is Slim he will have an Slim silhouette, that thing will never happen if you are very short.
body muscle mass isnt an important thing in dating, the important thing is being tall and Slim.

That's possible, but I haven't seen a study dealing with the same parameters since then.

The funny thing is, you could be shorter than average and not be perceived as "short" if you have a slim build. But it's all about how you perceive yourself.

Take my dad for example. He is slightly below 5'11, but he gets perceived as tall quite a bit, because his weight is below average for his height and he has long legs, also wears clothes that make him appear like he is 6'.

I have a friend who is at least a full inch taller than my dad, but he doesn't appear as tall for some reason. He still looks very young which could be something.  Although when it comes to stuff like the gym, height doesn't really matter as much as natural body shape. Obviously I would look like an ugly person if I tried to get over-ripped.

Ideal one is 6'3" to have the biggest dating pool while at the same time not being too long for your bed, toilet and I estimated most houses where I live to be tall enough.
