Exfix for lengthening is a big no for femurs with most doctors. Hurts like hell apparently and you risk permanent loss of knee ROM.

If Dr Bagirov says up to 4 cm is okay then it probably is. Still, it's supposed to be way more uncomfortable than external tibias.

hurts like hell ! .. hmm .. well from my experience yeah it's not comfortable at all but during the distraction my tibia hurts me way more than the femurs..

but if you would choose just external fixator I would go for tibia, as with femur you may have some knee bending issue

Well, it is  probably safe for sports

BUt it HURTS LIKE HELL according to my Russian friendd

Pain is 9/10 for femur. and 0 for tibia.  She is very brave. She refuses to take stronger painkillers.

Femur lengthening hurts less than tibia lengthening and you heal faster.   The problem is with external device and infection on femur.  It is uncomfortable for sleeping, changing clothes etc      First few days after surgery femurs hurt a lot more though.  Big shock to the body
