does your pain get worse at night when sleeping?
« on: December 16, 2014, 03:24:30 AM »

I dont know

The most of the day i was experiencing almost zero pain

Then at bed time, the worst pain of my life came!!

Does anyone realise there is a difference in pains?

Maybe our body heals at night time and thus the muscle (or bone) pains.

I don't know if the pain gets worse at night so much as me just focusing on the pain more while lying still.

Almost every diary shows you how terrible night pain and aches are. This was by far the worst part of the process for me.

Sleep deprivation was the worst part I couldn't sleep for more than 2 hours straight no matter what I tried.  I learned how to be a good napper!

Yeah, sleeping pills were an important part of my experience.

Ah , the pain escalated for you at night?

I guess short-term sleeping pills will do no harm right?

YOu just need sleeping pills for lengthening and not consolidation?

your talking about the stretching pain? an you cant find a comfortable position. kind of like being stuck in some strenuous stretching position only your not doing a stretching exercise?.

be thankful that your doctor gives you prescription pain killers for the lengthening phase.

yes. like doing a stretching pose. (having to put my legs at the box)

and somehow it is so difficult to sleep at a hopsital...

does it get better when you move to a private hotel?

its like hopsital... little privacy and clinical envirionment!

I hated the hospital, I moved to a private apartment. I was under eating  because the hospital food was terrible.

hospital environments are terrible. but at the same time your immobile so moving out might be a terrible idea if you have no help. even if you just get a caretaker to do your weekly shopping that might be enough though.

you have to think through this carefully. living out of the hospital environment is superior quality but only if your prepared which I don't think you are, and if your not prepared it can be a nightmare.

well this has been my experience. so don't take it as gospel.

yes it is terrible. food is horrible, and so many eyes are watching you! no privacy at all!
so I am only moving out when I can no longer stay there (allowed two weeks)
and after one day my friend will come.
and I am mobile on walkers, and I can stand without holding on to anything, so I am pretty fine!
yes I look forward to moving to the hotel!

what happens if you just can't sleep for like 7 days?
is that possible?

apart from the discomfort, are there serious health concerns with lack of sleep?

Um, yes, there are absolutely health concerns with lack of sleep. Your body basically starts to ruin itself. If I were you, I'd ask you doctor for something to help you get to sleep. Sleep is critical to the leg lengthening process!!!

Anyone know if pain tolerance gets lower after 2 weeks of the same type of pain. Like your brain decreases the pain to even things out.

there's also pain desensitisation. google!
well, doctor fahri suggest warm and cold compression intermittently.
and also massage to the painful areas.
i find methyl salicylcate to be very helpful! i think it elicits a nerve stimulation and hence pain is reduced. beware though there are cases of poisoning!
if you do not do this and do not take painkillers, pain response is increased!
