Russians don't do much for pain management?
« on: December 11, 2014, 03:05:16 AM »

I am so shocked at the level of pain management.

I had my epidural out at about 10 PM.

I had minimal pain until 3 AM. At 2 to 3 AM I got intramuscular shot to reduce the pain.

The pain did go away, but only 2 hours.

Feeling the pain come back, I took paracetamol with codeine (myself, I didn't tell the clinic, as they are against taking your own drugs)

Well, after that, yes, the pain was back, but the pain was probably 6/10, instead of 8/10 or 9/10 earlier.

I am, slowly, getting used to this pain.

But I can't understand.

Why do the Russians not care about the pain??

how does it hurt to provide adequate pain management for first few days post-operatively?

I cannot understand all this.

I am not lazy. I have walked with 8/10 pain, and I still walk 1 hour everyday even though it is only 3 days post-op.

I am doing my hard work, sigh.

I just need my painkillers!

If the pain management is not adequate I will visit a hospital in Moscow once I am discharged to get some opiods or semi-opiods like Tramadol.

I will also try to get used to this pain.

I just need feedback, does this horrible pain get better after a few days post-op?

God bless my painful soul.

On old forums, the Beijing patients are so comfortable the first week post-op. They just rest.

Russians? I walk, 1 hour everyday, even on the day of operation. I walk. And the pain? Its so bad, and there are hours (many hours) when I cannot have painkillers.

Lets say the epidural is injected at 2 PM. It will last me only 2-3 hours of total pain-free period. After that, the pain comes back, and it is pretty severe, about 8 or 9/10. And they will NOT inject you with epidural.

You will also NOT get any intramuscular injection instead. I could have asked for that, I admit, though, but they seem to have this totally non-chalent attitude towards patients' pain.

I was told I will get the good painkillers.

Sigh, for those who want LL, please be utterly prepared for this state of semi-satisfactory pain management.

Without my own medication I brought along, I would have died.

Maybe they can but they just don't want to.

Pain killer, like everything else in life, has its good and bad side. It will relieve your pain temporary and taken frequently enough will wreck a havoc on your health and liver. Maybe the staffs give you some meds just so the average person can bear the pain but not so far that it will ruin your health and make you become addicted. I forgot all the meds but I remember that they're all not good for you.

But just think that this pain is temporarily. Watch porn or TV - something that will make you laugh. After a week, your pain will slowly subside and you can start lengthening.

Russians are crazy mother fkers! You should see some of the sports and activities they engage into. Maybe they think you can handle the pain.

They have a very "tough up your act" attitude.

Sigh, I am resigned to this poor pain management protocol.

It is a constant 6/10 pain.

Walking is 9/10.

I will just bite my fingers and continue.

I will try to ask for more painkillers.

For those who CANNOT tolerate pain, I strongly advise NOT to do in Russia.

And I supposedly have a pretty high pain threshold.

Russians no offence are the kind of people who if you had testicular cancer or any sort of problem like that they would just say your life is over not give you TRT and say haha your a bitch now.   Yea they know how things work but the very masculine attitude comes from the earlier days.
