Update. At 2.7 cm. (I will update again maybe much later, as things are pretty constant everyday)
Everything has stabilised... i must admit i am in a state of complete analgesia (ie, pain 0/10) for most part of the day. As is expected, walking too much will lead to some pains (which is 3/10 to 6/10), but walking short distances is very good. For some days I was experiencing pains (before I saw the ortho) because I was NOT on any muscle relaxant other than ophenadrine, which was not the most perfect relaxant. I needed something strong like the Russian Mydocalm(or tizanidine), but we don't have it here, so they gave me eperisone which works like a charm.
No signs of ballerina yet. I am always on footholders in bed, and stretch my dorsiflexion angle also.
I might be getting knee contracture... as I was very worried about ballerina instead... but it is not an issue now, because I can still walk properly, and flatten my knees to zero degrees. So I will pay careful attention to this from today onwards.
I am relieved of the burden of taking care of myself, which was pretty dangerous if you ask me, cause if i fell nobody would know for quite a while.. But as my family is not very supportive of my decision, they only help me a little every now and then; but i am fairly independent and can do most tasks with walker.
Sleep wise, I still get my 8 hours at night, but more difficult. Why? its not the pain. I am just getting reliant on sleep medications. Last night was pretty hard to sleep. 30 mg codeine, no sleep. 60 mg codeine (which is 7.5 mg morphine) gave me euphoria for awhile. and when the euphoria went away, i dozed off. woke up, and couldnt get back to sleep. had some discomfort, so popped a tramadol. and there i was, back to sleep, like a baby before i know it (tramadol has weak sedative effects.. very subtle,,. only if you combine with opiates...)
Right, all these drug contortions will possibly not work if you have tolerance... i do not abuse drugs and have never taken opiates before and rarely take benzos, so everything is doing very well for me now. If you have a tolerance, you might wanna speak to your dr to see what can be done...
I am on Arcoxia. This is an NSAID. 90 mg once a day (i stopped 120 mg). Fahri said it was ok, taken once a day. So here I am. We dont have ketoprofen, anotehr NSAID which he prescribes. My local ortho believes that NSAIDs are a risk factor, in line with what most people think (the russians think it may not be adverse to bone growth, because studies always swinging from left to right to left, like ding dong bell)
Whatever it is, my bone formation is pretty good despite being injected regularly with ketoprofen in the hospital. And being on Arcoxia. But, I do not want to risk things and next week (ie, after a few days), I will switch to tramadol (and codeine at night to sleep), and stop arcoxia totally. (now I do not use tramadol)
I'm still worried about my fibula being not in line, which is very obvious on the XR, but fahri said we can discuss this in moscow. I am not sure if it matters, as the fibula is not a very important weight-bearing bone.. but if you are talking athletic functions, mmm, it might well matter (think it does)
