No I've actually never heard anyone lie only people that don't know. Asked a tall friend how tall he is and he just said "190 -something". Another guy I asked said "between 180-190 somewhere".

Maybe europeans actually give a   unlike Americans who just exaggerate!

6'7" actually sound like s disadvantage to me to be honest unless you want to play basketball or be a MMA fighter. Ideal is 6'2"-6'4".

Maybe europeans actually give a s**t unlike Americans who just exaggerate!

I think "tall" places like germany or the netherlands just don't care much. I've heard it's a bigger issue in spain, the UK and france but I don't know. Women around here are more forgiving as well -they're kind of forced to when you're 185CM tall you can't afford to ignore good men just because they're shorter or if you're 177CM you'll be taller than a lot of men in heels.

6'7" actually sound like s disadvantage to me to be honest unless you want to play basketball or be a MMA fighter. Ideal is 6'2"-6'4".

All 200CM+ men I've spoken to (not that many) said there is both advantages and disadvantages but that the former far outweigh the latter.

I'd still rather be 6'7 than 5'6-5'7.

It is. 6'0" and 6'1" aren't actually bad heights , just not tall enough IMO.

I'd probably be happy with 6'1, to be honest. Any taller, and powerlifting would become far too difficult as a sport for me.

6'2" would probably still be okay. I think usually after 6'2" is when it becomes excessive.

To me:
6'0 A-
6'1 A
6'2 A+
6'3 A+
6'4 A
6'5 A-

Think about the positives
6'0 if wants to be taller can just use 2cm lift and becomes 185
6'1 Same about this, can reach 6'2 if feels short

But the truth is if u are at least a solid 6'0 you'll be seen as a man and not as a man trapped in a child's body, if people are 183 at night and want more height its perfectly fine but the truth is you need that extra height to show up your physique and appear more imposing simply because you're lazy to ignite your brain to perfect your skills to become unique and attractive, its like in a fight instead of perfecting your attack/defence/tactics you just focus on attack and do other things superficially

I don't think my height neurosis is the main reason why Ive been insuccessful in life. I do play piano and sing and am going to start an internship in '15. I think even with my height neurosis I could get a girlfriend but something feels wrong and the women I attract are usually insecure. I have gotten a few cool girls numbers but it would end there and they would answer the first few calls and texts I sent them but never got them out the door and on a date.

For the U.S.A, you'd have to adjust it by sliding all the grades down one category (ex. 175-180 cm would be "very average").

This may disappoint many of you but the world average height for male age 20 and older is 168.14cm. It doesn't matter what many of you want or think, the facts speak for itself. Scandinavian is just a small area. I probably never visit there this lifetime so probably wouldn't see the tall giants there.

The website is http://www.interbasket.net/news/4385/2009/09/average-height-by-country-males-20-years/

The data for height and population are given. I calculated the % of the population of each country based on the total. I then took that percentage and times it to the height of that country. The total is added up and it is 168.14cm. That means the average height of the world population is 168.14cm. Okay, given this article might be old since it was written in 2009 but even if you believe that human male has increased in height over the past 5 years, the world average height for male would still be around 5'7.

And here is Steve at 191cm. Beside the haircut, what kind of thing can he change to improve his chances with women?

Steve just looked creepy. He's in total apathy and every movement he makes is rigid. You can tell he's nervous. He's just over 6'3" so I doubt height is on his mind all the time like with us.

The white women are in the prosperous areas. Most of the time in the south bay it's Mexicans and Asians/Indian Asians.

I agree with you that on a world-scale, 168 cm is average, but for most of the developed western world, about 176 cm is average.

I agree with you that on a world-scale, 168 cm is average, but for most of the developed western world, about 176 cm is average.

Yeah, if we like to use white male as the only standard, then the average height in all of western countries is around 176cm according to the data.

I took out all the non-european countries and re-calculate. The total average height is 175.41.

Ajax2thousand20 Thanks for the info! It's very similar to here. We have 3 main suburban cities, for the wealthy, middle-class and the poor. Many young people age 18-28 live in downtown. That's where I mostly hang-out.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Allthough I feel like I'm getting to old for some youngster women so I may need to look for women in different places. Gonna probably go to Vegas sometime next year or Latin America to look for women.

People aren't going to care about your height past 5'9 or 5'8.

Some tall women will. The 6'0" + guy is senior to a 5'9" guy in a woman's mind. Allthough a lot of bimbo women say the guys they date height must be 6'2" and above but if she's 1/2" shorter than you, she'll be too stupid to tell how tall you are.

Yes it's a very common height, around here people say that the "average joe" (medelsvensson) is 180CM, thin and blonde.

Hmm the average height for in my country is almost the same as in Sweden and I don't feel short at all, hmmmmmm, crazy crazy  :o

Don't know where you're from but I don't feel that short either. We're not giants just a few CM (maybe 3-4) taller on average.

For the young crowd the average height in USA goes up to 5ft11 at least. Look at this, in USA when race and age is controlled the average height goes up: U.S.   178.9 cm (5 ft 10 1⁄2 in)   White Americans, 20–39     2003-2006

This is from 2003-2006, so you could see why I think that 10 years later the average for 18-20 year olds has gone up to at least 181. Also when you go to parties the average height goes up even more because on average shorter people are less popular and stay in more. Sorry if I hit any tickle bones but I just want everyone to know the truth and not be deluded.

Here is a an earlier post when I disputed someone else who made the same claim without any facts to back it up:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--This is inaccurate the average height in developed countries has risen since the beginning of the 20th centuray at a rate of about 1CM every decade. That increase slowed down in the 1980's to about a fifth of the speed. For example the swedish average of 20-29 year olds was 180CM in 1980 and 181CM in 2011. There is not enough data yet to say if that increase has stopped completely or continues to rise at a slow rate of about 1CM every 30-40 years.

Most statisticians agree that it won't go above 183CM at most but it's more probable that it stabilizes between 181-182CM. After that it may shrink or remain no one knows. The only country that hasn't experinced a slowdown in growth rate is the netherlands hence why they are the tallest nation on earth. However it is very unlikely that the average will exceed 185CM naturally as stature above that height is incresingly detremental to individual health.

If I had to guess I'd say most populations will reach an average of 177-183CM if given sufficient acess to health care and nutrition.

To put these numbers in a realistic context: Statistically an average of 181 mean that 97,8% of the population will be within 2 standard deviations (7CM) of the mean i.e roughly 98% of all swedes are below 195CM and 68,2% are between 176CM and 188CM. If I were 190CM I'd be taller or equal in height to about 9 out of 10 swedes.
So how tall is tall? I would say 85th percentile or "top 15%" which is about 187CM or more.--
