Limb... SHORTENING: Possible?
« on: October 23, 2014, 05:36:53 AM »

Just a quickt and dumb thread lol, we all know that we don't want to lose any of our height but I just want to know, medically, if there is a limb (or not just limb, probably any general bone) shortening procedure? Like for example shoulder shortening, arm shortening, and in the least cases, limb shortening lol but I doubt someone would do the last one, not even me.

Just a question that came up to my mind.

Yes, I think I glanced over a thread with a 6'7 man who wanted to be 6'4 or so. He already had plans made.

If I woke up at that height I would be thrilled but to each their own.

There is a procedure and it involves removing a chunk of bone and then using a exfix to retract the bones. Will require intensive physio because muscles become very loose.

Most people will lose height when they hit their late 40s to early 50s so I see no point in doing it.

Does this mean that the limb shortening patient will have superhuman flexibility, at least until the muscles adapt to the new bone length, since they'll be too long for the new bone length after the operation?

yes it seems there will be increased flexibility but more power will be required to contract the loose muscles.

smh you cant reduce your bones length by just not eating. I was asking if there was something like LL type surgery for shoulders. I heard somewhere that there aren't but I was just wondering if it was true

You'll look thinner with less muscle and fat. Don't know about shoulder boe removal I would never want to do that

I can see why some women would want it, though. But no man in who's sane should seek shoulder reduction.

Wasn't there someone on here posting about a hip bone reduction for men, to help get that v-look?

Yup, but hip reduction is much easier to do than shoulder reduction. And thinner hips do look better and less feminine on males.

I don't believe that narrow shoulders ever look better than broad ones do on men.

Really? I don't know anything about the hip procedure. Just out of curiosity: what is that surgery like?
Will there be repurcussions for altering the physique like with limb lenghtening?

Here's the thread with links to the page of the doctor that does this procedure. Such a drastic procedure must surely have some repercussions. Personally, I am not interested in either waist narrowing or shoulder widening. I am very content with myself in both areas. Height is just about the only thing I feel the need to improve about myself physically.

good places to lengthen:

# tibia.
# femur.
# humerus.

stupid fked up places to lengthen:

# implants in your heel
# narrowing of the hip bone
# the clavicle
# your fingers
# implants in your fking head
# your hands
# your forearm
# the skin on your penis
# the big toe
# your eye
# your but hole (unless you are sysop/apotheosis)
# your spine with a ilisorov
# bum implants (JLO bum)(for sitting height)
#jaw elongation

do you get my fking point people. where does the insanity end. getting the things on this good list can be done for real world gain by healthy sane people. the things on the bad list are done by mental patients who need to fix their addiction to plastic surgery. they need a psychologist and a boat load of medication.

Allthough id rather be that tall instead of average or 6'0", I would never want to be that tall. If your that tall it's very likely you had a pituitary condition since a lot of men that height look like Giants.

I wouldn't say its very likely.. I would say that normal human height ends around 6'10.

Average NBA player is 6'6 and they are some of the best alround athletes alive.. this would be the case if they had abnormal biology.

I'm not saying its ideal socially though.. I am saving money at the moment, I found my surgeon! I had to take on a $100k a year job to finance this - it really motivated me

Most NBA players are slightly shorter than their listed height. Like Kobe is listed as 6'6" but his wife measured him just shy of 6'5".  But why did you want to do Limb shortening?

Because I don't feel comfortable being a walking freak-show in public.

I don't like having to duck through every door frame 100x per day

I don't like being the butt of boring height jokes constantly

I don't like feeling a full foot taller and incredibly awkward around 95% of women

I don't like not fitting any trousers

I don't like being constantly harrassed in bars

I don't like not fitting properly in any mode of transport

And finally because it theory this may extend my life by 3-5 years.. its a  -ton less blood to pump vertically
