Could I still grow taller?
« on: October 13, 2014, 01:25:15 AM »

So, I'm 18, and I'm pretty sure that I am almost done with puberty. Problem is, I've never had a teenage growth spurt before. I am 5'6.5, and my mother is 5'6, and my dad is 6'0. According to my growth curve, I was estimated to be between 6'0-6'3. Here were my heights from 10 onwards:
10-5'0
11-5'3
12-5'5
13-5'6
14-5'6
15-5'6
16-5'6
17-5'6
18-5'6.5

So, will I still hit my growth spurt? Everything else has been normal; I have facial hair, a lot of muscle mass, etc. but my growth has lagged waaaaaay behind. Will I still hit my growth spurt?

You might.

But considering you didn't grow much from 12-18 I wouldn't count on it.

When I asked my friends who are short (myself included) about how their growth was like throughout puberty, most mentioned about being their final height around 14/15-ish and only grew a few cm after that while most of others had growth spurts. Then again, this is just my observation with the people around me. Out of all the many people whom I knew, only 1 had a growth spurt after 18. But you have a tall dad, so you still have a chance.

Regarding myself, I had hit my final natural height at around 17 and never grew a single cm after that.

Yeah, I'm hoping to end up like Dennis Rodman, whom went from 5'7-6'9 between senior year of high school to junior year of college. I mean , maybe not that much lol, but 2-4 inches before doing ll would be amazing!

Highly unlikely, Dennis Rodman used human growth hormone to grow taller.

Highly unlikely, Dennis Rodman used human growth hormone to grow taller.

I had no idea HGH could be that effective for this purpose, The guy managed to grow such an insane ammount in a very short time span and didnt suffer any noticable negative side effects. It seems with such efficiency it should be easy and safe with a lesser ammount of HGH to gain some inches at least, which would make it quite simply to avoid having our children ending up short.

Unless of course this guy was insanely lucky and very few individuals gain any height from taking it, or at most very little height.

Well, I am getting a growth hormone prescription from my endocrinologist.

You can use insulin growth factor 1 to increase your HGH levels and help you grow taller. Insulin growth factor 1 is the thing that is actually responsible for us growing, but it is only released when we release human growth hormones. So a release in HGH will cause a release in insulin growth factor 1 which will cause the body to grow taller.

Reduce estrogen levels to increase HGH levels. When you have a lot of estrogen in your body, you don’t release as much HGH. This is exactly why men are usually taller that women. Men have lower levels of estrogen which means we release more HGH and testosterone.

If you drink a glass of milk right when you wake up in the morning and a glass of milk right before you go to bed, you are setting your body up to release as much human growth hormone as possible which will help you grow taller. If you are looking to grow taller then you need to do it with the use of human growth hormone. Getting sleep, lifting weights, sprinting, and drinking a glass of milk right when you wake up and right before you go to bed are by far the best ways to increase your human growth hormone levels. Give it a try.

But if you'r plates are fused there is no point.

If you've used steroids, which you've suggested in another thread, then chances are that you're done growing naturally.

No, I've never used steroids. I only suggested using them to aid in PT during ll. No, I probably suffered from precocious puberty.

It's okay man. I've never had a growth spurt in my life. You'll usually have one between 12-14 and afterwards you'll get a good idea of what your final height will be.

I didn't even have one at 12. I never had one. I grew consistently to 5'6-5'7 and just randomly stopped.

You could probably get to 5'11.5 one day and wear lifts. But I don't think you can get to 6'1" unfortunately.

You can still grow until 21. I was measured at 5'6.5 at 17 and now I am 5'7.75 at 20. Both measurements were taken by a stadiometer barefoot so there are no errors. Anyway I have been taking hgh at a high dose for the last 2 months and I have grown a bit for sure. I had to drop it recently because the sides were unbearable but it will start it up again at a low dose and ramp up slowly.

Watch your BLOOD GLUCOSE if you are taking gh. You CANNOT EAT A LOT OF CARBS. Gh makes you insulin resistant and puts you at a greater risk for diabetes. Bodybuilders don't talk about this because they take insulin anyway.

This is how I got f**ked over. Last few weeks I haven't been able to think straight, my mind was foggy all the time and I was getting horrible cramps after eating. The idiots on bodybuilding forums say that you are safe to eat one hour after injection, but you are not. Anyway I suspect that my blood glucose was jacked up and a blood test will probably confirm that. I will have to take a break from hgh until my body heals up and the glucose levels return to normal. Unfortunately this is horrible timing as I have finals next week.

Start with a low dosage and work your way up slowly. There is no rush and make sure you take an estrogen blocker to delay growth plate closure. Buy a blood glucose monitor to montior you blood sugar levels. Drink a lot of water and get plenty of excercise when you are on the drug.

Hopefully I can get to 5'9, the sooner the better and when I do I will drop the gh for good.

I suspect you are a late bloomer based on your parents height meaning that you have a lot of potential to grow with hgh.

Consider yourself lucky if this is true because your biggest growth usually happens between 12-15.
It's rare to grow anything more than 1" after 18.

I have no reason to make this up bro. Anyway hgh does cause insulin resistance that is the main drawback. However it can make you grow past your potential safely if used properly and if the adequate safety precautions are taken.

Many collegiate athletes have grown a bit because of hgh. A famous example is Clay Matthews who entered college at 6'1 165 pounds and graduated at 6'3 255 pounds.

It would be a dream for me to hit 5'9 and it looks like that might be possible now.

I'm not invalidating you, I'm saying that growing beyond 18 is rare. The cases with atheletes and some other people are exceptions but generally speaking your done around 15-18. It even said so in Dr Xias syllabus on his website.

That's true I guess it just depends on the person and his/her genetics. But I do notice that most guys are done at 18-19 but some grow until 22 even.

Other than Dennis Rodman, I've never seen or heard of any one grow beyond 20-21 and I only knew about 1 or 2 men in my life time who grew around that age and it was 1" at best. I do hope you grow to 5'9" but I wouldn't count on it.

I don't have my hopes up but I am still growing a bit and I only need about an inch plus the hgh should help for sure. But like you said it is rare. Going from 172cm now to 174cm when I'm all done is probably more realistic.

That inch of growth may have occurred at late 17 or early 18. But if I grew that much at your age I'd do a back flip and be walking on cloud 9 but then again I'm much taller. I stopped around late 15 early 16 can't say for sure. But unfortunately, I think 5'8" is it for you.
