This is an x-ray of a current Dr. Sringari patient's tibias with the intramedullary nails inside during the lengthening phase.

Is it just me or do the rods look quite bent? I think the physios might be pushing patients to do too much weight bearing.

The small pins are bending, but that's normal.

The nail is naturally bent like that.

There isn't anything wrong in the x-ray.

Standing is good but you get a little bit pin bending, that's for sure.
I never got pin bending during my stay in India bc I almost never stood up. Instead I have to suffer from bad ballerina.
So standing up more and get pin bending is much better.

Ah, to me it looked like they bent a little more than I've usually seen on x-rays, but if it's a normal amount of bending then that's good. I wonder how much walking is encouraged at Sringari's guesthouse as opposed to just standing. There seems to be a bit of variation between doctors over how much actual walking is appropriate during the lengthening phase, as opposed to just standing or only weight bearing when transferring from one place to another.
