[INDIRECT INFO] Dr. Sringari ongoing thread.

Here you see patients currently lengthening in India. Do you think that they are faking their condition (pain, etc etc) just to fool people on the old forum?

Since Dr Sringari is in league with the owner of old forum  (sysop) to steer patients to him and get a kickback, we may not have much luck getting his patients to put their diaries up on here.

So, in fairness to the Doctor, and to help our members make an informed decision on all the doctors, lets discuss Sringari here , but with the disclaimer that we are using 3rd hand information only.

If anyone has any info on how its going or has photos or whatnot, please post it here.

Even if the video looks like patients are doing well, there are still multiple reasons why I would never go to Dr. Sringari.

1) Dr. Sringari's orthopedic training did not include an extensive time focusing on the sub-specialty of Ilizarov surgeries. He is trained in hip and knee replacement primarily. This orthopedic surgeon in particular is just looking to jump in on the cosmetic limb lengthening money train in India. Right after Sysopotheosis met Sringari to "invest" in him around the time of Sysop's falling out with Dr. Sarin, Sringari had a website built and he included limb lengthening as something he's highly experienced in. This is not really the case. Going to an orthopedic surgeon not focused on the sub-specialty of Ilizarov surgeries is not a risk I'm willing to take and other people should not take that risk either.

Strike one.

2) I highly doubt that Dr. Sringari had no idea that Crazy+6 aka "ThePhantom" was posing as a patient of his. Yet of course he's getting potential patients this way so he lets him do it - or maybe even gave Crazy the idea in the first place.

Strike two.

3) Dr. Sringari clearly doesn't do a psychological evaluation on any of his patients, which is something important as we heard some of the stories about a nutjob that underwent surgery with Dr. Sarin. I believe his first real patient was LL Forumorlife, who if you don't remember, went on old forum  and threatened to kill himself if someone didn't sponsor surgery with Dr. Sarin. He apparently only had $10,000 given to him by his mother and needed more money to afford the rest. Well, $4,000 thousand US dollars takes quite a while for the average person to acquire in India. Then what do you know, a mere few weeks later he is somehow able to afford surgery with Dr. Sringari. Any guesses who helped him acquire that money? If it wasn't Sysop, then Sringari likely gave LL Forumorlife a discount if he advertised him on old forum . Whichever the case, it's far too sketchy for me.

Strike three.

Sringari's current patients are all nuts to be doing the procedure under him.

I'll quote something from the other thread,  plus

1) No details on his website about where DR. T SRINGARI  had medical training/fellowship ?

2)  And why is Dr T Sringari making these claims on his website (About Section)?

"Dr. Sringari is one of the best orthopedic surgeon in India. He is currently associated with Paras Hospital, Gurgaon, India. He has worked in United Kingdom for 7 years specializing in advanced Arthoscopic surgery, Joint replacements & sports injuries. "

According to who?

"He is one of the pioneer orthopedic surgeon to perform Limb lengthening surgery. "

Pioneer = develop or be the first to use or apply something new.   I seriously doubt that is true.

I agree Carter. So far it really seems like he just a country doctor who sysop has tried to turn into a LL guru.

The more info you can get on him the better  :)

I am currently lengthening in the Sringari guesthouse. I have only lengthened 2mm so I can't speak as to the end result from Sringari, but, thus far I couldn't be happier.

My cuts are very small, I asked him about this and he responded that he is always trying to make the cuts smaller and smaller. I think the only resultant visible scar will be on my knee. The cuts look better than any other external doctor around the world.

Pain has been very minimal, reading the diaries I think I have had the easiest time of externals for any doctor. Taking painkillers seem to be very rare in the guesthouse, whereas some other people seem to take painkillers throughout the whole process.

The frames are very strong, patients from me onwards will get 4 rings whereas earlier one's only had 3 rings. I am not sure why this is the case although I assume it's to increase strength of the frame. This kind of says that Sringari is a little inexperienced with the process though as he is still improving his cuts and frame and hasn't polished a finished process, although I don't care as I got both :).

Physio is very encouraged, once a day pre 2cm and twice a day post 2cm, as well as wearing the sandals and independent stretching at our own discretion. The doctor also visits once a week although this is largely unnecessary in my case as everything is ok.

I have constant access to like 6 people all of whom seem to be very caring and diligent.

Some of my complaints so far
-Really didn't like the nurses in the hospital post op, although gladly I don't have to deal with them now.
-I got a really bumpy/itchy rash on my ass and back. Was told nothing could be done. Constant itching honestly disturbed me worse than pain, its just completely debilitating. Thank fk it's finishing up too.
-I got sick, again told nothing could be done. Probably true, wasn't even that bad drank a lot of water and got better in a day.

If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer.

Welcome!!

We are glad to have you  :)

We dont have access to Sringari patients and would love to have you put your diary up here.

We want to give all the doctors a chance. We do not shill for any doctor nor disparage any doctor. That is up to you patients.

Feel free to go to the patient diaries section and start up a diary. We would love to read it  :) . Your diary is the holy grail for us and it can encourage us knowing others have gone down the road before.!!!

I am not going to make a diary, sorry  :-X. Reason being for the next 2-3 months all I am going to be doing is turning and in bed as well as doing the same physio everyday.

I guess I can add that we don't stand up until our first x-ray which is 10 days after surgery. Some other interesting things people might want to know is that I am turning 1mm a day, some are turning 1.25mm and even some 1.5mm (1.5mm is only for isolated periods ie: a week then back to 1.25mm).

They only turn this much because on their x-ray it shows a lot less than what they have actually turned. Sometimes even like less than half. This severe discrepancy between what we turn and the x-ray results has occurred across the board. However, some make the point that maybe the x-rays are inaccurate as one guy had an x-ray and it showed a gap, then he had his pins changed with no additional lengthening and he had another x-ray and the gap was 1cm bigger!

This is my biggest worry as if we are only reaping .4mm a day I could be here for a very long time to achieve 5/6cm. It is so much harder than I thought to just lie in a bed, I stupidly thought it would be somewhat of a vacation from my 2 jobs/school.

Honestly at this point I would recommend Sringari. There were some negatives about the process (a lot have had issues with the nurses such as like half of the people here having their epidural fall out and the nurses not even bothering to check or just saying its fine when it's not), however, none were stemming from Sringari or his team. I guess we can expect this paying so much less than having it done in the west.

Again no diary, but, I will answer anything to the best of my ability.

Also, I can assure you the diaries on old forum  are an accurate representation of these guys experiences.

No sweat. We appreciate your imput. We do like to keep the endorsements to actual patients  in the patient diaries:)

You are the first (of hopefully many) Sringari patients to post here. I would encourage you guys to make diaries here so we can see how Sringari operates.

Also guys I agree with 90% of the stuff you say about Sysops, but, I actually think deep down he thinks he is doing good.

Not saying he isn't in league with Dr Sringari, but, if he did go into business with Sringari I believe it is because he actually thinks that Sringari is a good doctor that can offer a good product. The simple fact that they have a relationship I don't think is a good enough reason to completely discredit Sringari.

I agree. We arent socialists here.

Since its disclosed that hes shilling for Sringari, then I am ok with it because we patients can take that into consideration. We want you guys to come here and tell us your own personal experience.

We are open to the Dr showing us his stuff.  :)

By creating a fake diary with Crazy+6 ?   Haha.  Yea it's good for his bank account, not so much for others.

Anyway, I'll reserve judgement on Sringari,  not just because some random person suddenly is here to good stuff about the doctor.  This is just how the internet works though, anyone can say anything.

That's a really immature standpoint.

Have you heard the phrase: "no one's the antagonist in their own life story", or "no one's the villian in their own life story"

These people rationalize things to suit themselves. He could justify creating the fake diary by saying it was a tactic to give people an alternative to Sarin. He may think he is doing god's work and compensation is justified.

From my perspective, the problem with that is even though he may think he's doing good, he's still putting the well being of other people at stake by promoting a doctor who, before now, hardly had any (if at all) experience in cosmetic leg lengthening. Say Dr. Sringari accidentally screwed up during the procedure and someone ended up paralyzed in one of their legs or even developed other less severe complications that became chronic, such as early arthritis from improper surgical technique. That's the key reason why people were so mad at Sysop in the first place. When you promote doctors deceptively (lying about identity, financial interest, etc.), especially the unknown ones, you tempt fate and are doing no less than using others as guinea pigs. Add the person promoting the doctor getting financial compensation for doing so and it makes the act that much more despicable.

When I was reading the Sringari diaries on the old forum the thing that stood out most to me was that the discrepency between what patients had turned and what the x-rays showed was happening to all the patients, and now one of the patients confirms that this problem is across the board.  Maybe they are weight bearing too frequently and for too long a period of time.  Those guys all seem to be doing a lot more standing and walking than the LON patients of any other Dr.  I understand the need to prevent ballerina but maybe dial it back a bit, what else could it be other than junk hardware or incorrectly placed pin sites?

Most put it down to pin bending due to a lot of walking/standing in addition to inaccurate x-rays.

I have no idea of the actual cause though, it is very concerning. I don't want to be here for too long it is so hard :(.

No I don't have a diary on old forum , I don't even post there.

The pictures of the osteomy cut in the thread sysops made about good/bad scars are of my legs, taken by another patient.

I found out about this forum from a friend, we were potentially going to go to Sarin together. He found out about all the negative stuff about Sarin ages ago as he was in communication with people at the guesthouse. I was hoping we were going to Sringari together but it wasn't to be :(. He told me about this forum when it started.

Wasn't planning on even posting here either until I saw all this negative speculation about Sringari. I legitimately think he is a decent cheap option, although you still have to put up with it being a 3rd world country and the negative   that accompanies this. China seems to be the next good cheap option for LL, but, it's like still 4x the price. I'm only 20 so I can't afford that and I am sure there are many in the same position.

kingslee I think you'll find walking/standing is one of the best methods for recovery. The frames seem very sturdy. Mine moreso than the rest as I have 4 rings while they only have 3.

In my inexperienced opinion the physio, Harry, seems extremely knowledgeable and intelligent. He has been through the process with a large number of LLers and knows what works. I believe he actually got in a fight with Sarin when he worked there over Sarin not letting the patients stand. This tells me he also cares about the patients and their recovery.

I don't think there's a doctor that will include airfare. Most doctors can arrange pickup from the airport to the hospital. Currently Dr. Sringarii charges $9,500 for the surgery itself but if you want accommodation for the duration of the procedure it will be $14,000. I wouldn't go based solely on price though. Some people have ended up with really bad complications by doing that in the past.

Ok guys I actually posted some misinformation which I need to remedy.

Firstly, I am not the only 4 ring patient. There is another 4 ring patient.

Secondly, the discrepancy between what has been turned and the actual gap that the x-ray shows is NOT across the board. The other 4 ring patient is only 1mm behind what he turned! Here's hoping it's the same for me.

Just to be clear, it's fine to mention old forum , just no http/www link.  Our sticky topic is about old forum , so newcomers know what's really going on over there right away.  When it's come to information that affect people's safety and well-being, there's no messing around.  It cannot be hidden, faked and misrepresented.

Okay, let's get back to the topic of Dr Sringari, before this thread goes off track.

Here's another thread about Dr Sringari, for reference.

This is an x-ray of a current Dr. Sringari patient's tibias with the intramedullary nails inside during the lengthening phase.

Is it just me or do the rods look quite bent? I think the physios might be pushing patients to do too much weight bearing.
