Questions to veteran LLers
« on: January 28, 2019, 02:01:17 AM »

I made this questions on pm to some users, but I decide to post them here so more people can answer.

'll make some questions to you. I'll be very thankful if you answer them all with complete answers.

1) Is there anything you regret on your surgery (inserting the nail through your knee, achilles tendon lengthening, lengthening too much, lengthening too little, spend too much money, wrong doctor, wrong place, long time with frames, it band release)?

2) I saw bad diaries about Guichet, Sarin and Monegal. If money is not a problem, which doctors and nails (stryde precice, iskd, albizzia, fitbone) you recommend for internal femurs? If money is a problem, which doctors do you recommend for internal femurs? Are doctors Birkholtz and Giotikas ok?

3) If money and location is not a problem, which doctor do you recommend for full external ilizarov Tibia (not lon, not latn)? I thought about Doctor Catagni in Italy, but I would make him put in the contract that he would not perform achilles tendon lengthening in me. Do you think the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center is a better option? Or maybe doctor Parihar in India?

4) If you will do just one segment, what do you think is preferable: femurs or tibia?

5) If one will do the two segments, is it better do tibia first and femurs after or the opposite? Or do it (cross) quadrilateral?

6) How much did you lengthen? How tall was you before surgery and now?

7) If you did tibia, do you think do femurs too if you have money and time? (or vice versa)

8) What do you think about iliotibial band release to internal femurs? You will lose athletic performance the same way as achilles tendon lengthening for tibia/fibula? What do you think about achilles tendon lengthening?

9)What is the best way to insert the nail in femur: percutaneous/suprapatellar incision or the classic parapatellar transtendon approach?

10) I’m thinking about contracting a personal trainer to gain flexibility in my legs and learn how to stretch them. Do you think it is necessary? I don’t have any flexibility at all (I also smoke, but I’ll stop and I will lose weight 80kg).

11) My goal is 6-7 in tibia (without achilles tendon lengthening) and a lot of physiotherapy to avoid equinus, duck ass and ballerina foot. Do you think is it achievable? I'm 1,65m (5'5")

12) If I do internal femurs, my goal is 7-8 without IT band release and a lot of pt. Do you think is it achievable?

13) What is the amount of lengthening/distractioin per day do you recommend with external tibia and with internal femurs?

14) What is the best supplements to take during lengthening phase and consolidation phase? Is there a specific exercise for each phase?

15) What is the best external fixator: hexapod, taylor spatial frame, ilizarov, monorails?

16) What would be the estimate time to recover (able to run and jump) if I do cross quadriletaral lengthening?

Fck answering all of that crap.

Go read some more diaries for answers because most people who do LL don't hang around to answer stupid surveys like this when most get answered in the first and last post anyway. Christ, people just want to be spoon fed like children, seems every thread is like this.

I'm lurking and I'm reading the diaries. I just hope someone would answer. Sorry for that.
