Hi guys! New here and some questions
« on: August 26, 2014, 01:19:38 PM »

Hi guys! Been lurking around for abit and finally decided to post!. I'm currently a patient in the late distraction phase (internal tibias, aiming 6cm. currently slightly more than 5cm!) I've been having some ballerina foot and I've been stretching quite aggressively in my early lengthening phase but to no avail. It seems like no matter how much I stretch, it doesn't get a single bit better! I'm getting quite paranoid over this. Does ballerina get better once you stretch after you're done lengthening? (or when you start to weight bear). I'm currently non weight bearing and only practice standing with crutches or support. And a question to LL veterans, how long is the consolidation phase for tibias typically? I don't mean until it's fully healed but up till the point where you can walk unaided. (if it makes a difference, I did a very slow distraction phase, I'm currently 3.5 months post op and i've been going at 0.4-0.5mm distraction for the past months!).

Weight bearing and walking prevent and cure ballerina, so it's not surprising you're struggling with it.  I had externals with a heel fixator, and still I had a light case of it towards the end.
