Looking for leg discrepancy patients
« on: November 10, 2023, 09:44:30 PM »

Are there any patients who did tibia lengthening for fixing discrepancy?
I tried to search for this in the forum but couldn't quite find anything.

If you have leg discrepancy to the point where it needs surgery and you do LL for it, how realistic is it to ask them to do the full thing and squeeze in a few extra cms? Will they refuse and only give you the lengthening you need to resolve the discrepancy?

Do you have fixators in both legs?

Once the legs are equalized, you can extend the legs no more than 8 centimeters.

Say you have leg length discrepancy, and it's to the point where it needs to be surgically fixed (which I think happens if it's more than 2 cm if I'm not mistaken). Your doctor prescribes LL on one leg to fix the discrepancy. Could you exploit that opportunity to get more height or would you only be allowed to lengthen enough to fix the discrepancy and no more cause past that it would count as cosmetic?

If there is a leg length difference, only one leg is operated on.However, if you want to increase your height aesthetically, both legs must be operated on. One grows 6 cm and the other 8 cm. Total height increases by 6 cm.
