iliopsoas lengthening surgery
« on: August 25, 2023, 08:14:28 PM »

I'm sorry, but when I try to post an image, it says that the uploaded file is full, so I set the image I want you to see in my profile

Regarding the left leg in question, I can't put my knees on the floor like sitting in Zen meditation.

They say I have a problem with my iliopsoas and want to lengthen it.

Is there anyone like me in the same situation?

Has anyone else had iliopsoas lengthening surgery?

Are you confusing the iliotibial band (IT band) with the iliopsoas?

I just looked back on my interactions with them.

I'm sorry, you're right, the word extension was certainly not used.

However, it seems that there is no doubt that the iliopsoas muscle improvement surgery will be performed.

I have checked many times

However, I am in trouble because they do not contact me without explaining the specific method.

Is it rare to have iliopsoas surgery?

Searching the internet, I found several hits for iliopsoas lengthening surgery:

http://www.bcchildrens.ca/our-services/clinics/orthopaedics/orthopaedic-cerebral-palsy/lower-extremity-surgery/hip-flexor-iliopsoas-lengthening

However, I am not aware of any cases where this surgery has been performed on LL patients.
As you can see from the illustration in the URL, I don't think there is any tension on the iliopsoas muscle in femur lengthening.
I also believe that if the iliopsoas muscle is not long enough, hip flexion contracture will occur, but this does not seem to be your symptom.

Thank you very much for your kindness :)

There is iliopsoas lengthening surgery! !

I will check the link.

That's right
People I know who have had bone lengthening have never had this surgery and have never heard of it.

I think I will go to Korea once and ask for their opinion. >:(

I will ask them to explain again why they decided to do this operation. :'(

I am interested in this because it seems to be a very rare complication.
If you receive an opinion from a Korean doctor, it would be helpful if you could share it with us later.
