Hello, I have a choice of quadrilateral lengthening (aiming for 10 cm) for either Mahoubian (North Hollywood) or Donghoon Lee (korea). I am a korean american living in los angeles so obviously mahoubian would be more comfortable for me. I have always heard that donghoon lee was one of the best, and always wanted to get it from him but staying in korea for 6 months (despite being korean), rather than being able to live at home with support from family (easier on them) seems like something I have to decide on.
Also, If i go to korea I would do LON for tibia and internal precice for femurs. if I got it from mahoubian it would both be internal precice.
What would you guys do? I know both are good doctors, but if you were in my position which would you choose given the cost are about the same...
If Donghoon all 4 precise nails (femurs precise and tibias precise) is not an option (wonder why it's not an option though?), then ..
Mahoubian. Definitely. Definitely.
Because:
- Get to do precise for both and avoid externals (more comfortable sleeping, avoid pin site pain, avoid pin site infections, everything is just more comfortable)
- if you're in LA, imo just find a local swimming pool near you if you want hydrotherapy. Though I think once you have 4 nails in you, you might want someone around to help you at the swimming pool (With your family's help. Swimming pool staff can also be very friendly and helpful towards handicapped people too).
- Family being around to help is a HUGE plus, I mean that alone is maybe a good reason to stay in LA
- In LA -> you don't have to buy a flight ticket or worry about the flight going back with 4 nails in you, that flight can be uncomfortable for some people (some forum members + people I met in real life who decided to pay alot for a business class ticket for comfort)
- Can stay closer to your current home, more convenient logistically
100% Mahoubian if there is no way to do 4 precise nails with Donghoon, I know LON is not a bad method but in this case screw it and just do precise all the way IMO
Your instinct is right. Stay in LA
