Which insurances will cover LL for a discrepancy?
« on: March 26, 2023, 11:57:40 PM »

To make it short, I'm not seeking LL for purely cosmetic reasons, but to correct an actual discrepancy between my Humorous bones. This is obviously expensive af, so I want to know if anyone here has had LL for discrepancy correction and if you had financial help from your insurance and how you got it if so. I am in the USA and have access to Kaiser Permanente and Cigna, so I hope its one of those.

Kaiser covered my surgery for a leg length discrepancy. I had a great experience with them, just had to do my homework to.fimd the right surgeon. I'm found the surgeon on my own and then requested a referral to him.

You would get the discrepancy issue covered.  The cost of bringing your shorter limb to match you longer one is an insurable medical condition.  Make an appointment with your primary care physician, voice your concerns...you will be given a referral to an orthopedic surgeon, who will in turn refer you to another one who does LL procedures (as you probably already know, ortho surgeons have their specialties within the field).  You will also get FMLA leave of absence from work since it is a medical procedure to correct a problem, not simply a CLL one.  Get it done, before it causes you hip or back pain, if it hasn't already!  Best of luck
