I'm aware of laser, I can't tell if it works

They always show the best pictures on their websites

There is scar gels

The dermtv youtube channel dermatologist even recommended rubbing vaseline on scars because he believes that alot of the scar creams mostly work from the safe friction on the scar in that dermatologist's opinion

I'm not really sure what's out there aside from laser

There is geometric scar revision (if you have a small linear scar, they make it less linear/more jagged and curly so its harder to see visually) but I'm not sure which femur LL scars are appropriate for this

Not sure what else is out there?

I am going to do femur nail removal in Athens next year and am not sure whether I should seek out scar treatment right after nail removal in Athens or if I should wait for a few weeks before I come back to the United States

It all depends how good of a job the surgeon does with the incision during the nail removal and also your original surgery. Dr. paley and Robbins did a great job and all I had was some discoloration. Dermatologists have lasers that can take care of the discolorations

From the interview with cyborg4life, it seems like Dr. Robbins is a great doctor

I'm about two months after my gnail femur surgery, the scars are still dark red colored but some of them are slowly getting slightly lighter colored

Most of the guys in Athens I talked to are really happy with our scars, especially a guy with dark skin where you can't really see the scars that easily among the dark skin and leg hair, it looks great tbh. A girl in Athens is unhappy with her scars and thinks they are too much, but they look tiny to us, its a gender difference

I'm happy with how small my scars are but am still thinking about their dark color and obviously the fact that the scars are symmetrical for each leg, which is a giveaway

With scar creams, sheets, scar revision lasers, tattoos, some kind of scar flattening etc I'm hoping to get to the point it becomes undetectable to a person with you in bed with the lights on even if they know what LL is

But I can't really tell which of these scar treatments is effective vs only slightly useful/hard to notice

I've noticed for hair that hair transplants definitely work and things like minoxidil may or may not have noticeable effects

I tried scar creams and sheets. They don't work that good. It was waste of money....... scars will fade with time and lasers at dermatologist makes the process faster.

Sounds good, maybe I'll try lasers then in the USA

I'm assuming I can't do them in Athens since they need more time to heal before lasers?

I waited several months after nail removal to start with the laser. I did a dozen sessions one month apart. I may go back next year for couple of additional sessions.

That's awesome, it sounds like they are working pretty decently if you're thinking of going back. How much in total do you think you want to spend on lasers? They seem like a great option because they don't involve surgery

If you do internals, the scarring is so minimal, and you'll be so stoked about your new height and recovery...that scarring will be the absolute last thing on your mind.

I'm doing internal femurs now, I do agree that I'm happy with how tiny the scars are + I'm stoked about being taller, the height very noticeable for me + the other patients commenting on the height gain even though I've only done 5cm so far. I still want to try to get the scars to be undetectable though, mainly their dark red color is noticeable against my pale skin and their symmetry across both legs is noticeable if someone knows that LL exists, I don't want anyone figuring it out

ok sounds good, I'll ask the dermatologist about laser when I come back to the USA and then just laser laser laser

Hopefully that makes them hard enough to see, not sure if geometric scar revision (makes them less linear) will be good for the smaller linear scars
