I need very little to be happy, I have a cheap studio apartment. I have not had the surgery yet but am well on my way to my goal of 80k. I cook my own meals, brew my own coffee. I have removed almost all my subscriptions. There’s a bunch of stuff in my life that I realized was really adding up that was totally unnecessary. I have an app that tracks my savings and expenses. I became a bartender a year ago. The starting pay was maybe 35k a year, but I actively worked on improving my skills, appearing more professional, and being more friendly. I am constantly looking to climb the ladder for quality of bar I work in and therefore pay. There are so many bartenders who just stay comfortable at their intro level bar. I’m now making a little over 50k a year and steadily climbing. I DoorDash on the days where I have free time which adds another couple of grand a year. I don’t know what your job situation is, but I think the key is to live minimal and try to climb the ladder in whatever job you are working or switch to a job that allows you to grow.
