When you guys said, you start walking normal after 6 months from the surgery, you mean the initial surgery or after the surgery to remove the external frame?  for LON cases as myself

Is been 4 months since initial surgery and one since i removed the external frame. My walking is not getting better, i waddle a lot  and without painkiller i barely can step. With painkillers walking is fine but still waddelly.

Femur 8cm LON, i go gym and kinetoterapy 3-5 times / week

Most people I met said 6 - 8 months but seeing how you did 8 cm femur LON hard to say but it will probably take more time than other cases. My Doctors maximum for Femur is 7 cm and refuses to do LON on femurs since it penetrates more muscle than tibia.

I did LON on my tibia, 6 cm around 4 months ago
it's been more than a month since my frames were removed.
I've started walking with the aid of the walker and I have nerve pain in my left leg.
I guess for LON , The normal walking comes by 6-8 months from the initial surgery.

Can you walk with crutches or without support? what nerve pain do you have? any other pain? What do you feel?  Did you got all 6cm when you measure yourself? and do you feel taller now?

Dr. Lee from Korea and his reasoning is that 8 cm is usually too much to handle for patients and you have a significant chance of complications vs someone that does 6 or 7 cm ( from his experience treating patients with complications ). If there are patients that come to him that want to lengthen more than 7cm his only plan is a 4 + 4 ( femur/tibia ) plan.

He also said he used to do LON in femurs back in the days but saw too much complications down the road so he only does precice femurs now.

What if you do 8cm (4+4) in the same segment with a year gap? My doc said I can rebreak and go for the full 8cm.

idk for me personally I wouldn't want to rebreak the same segment to lenghthen more. I also haven't really met anyone that did 4+4 on same segment ( I usually talk with KR/US patients that do 6-7 cm max with occasionally bilateral people) so can't really input on that.

It took 9 months for me to walk normal after I stopped lengthening.  It takes time to build the glute muscles. I am still trying to regain my glute muscles back to pre surgery.

Yes Indeed Its great to have a brother on the same boat and to answer your question, Actually I did 6.5 cm in total so that after I weight bear, I get approximately 6.
For the nerve pain, I have the pain ever since my frames were removed but it's getting better everyday and i suppose it shall go away anytime now.
No other pain as of now and yes I'm able to walk with the aid of the walker but I tell you that you should Cycle a lot, the gym cycle, it helps a lot in building your muscles so when you walk your legs don't shiver.
OH and yes! I feel so much taller. My height was 165 and now when I measure, It comes to almost 171.5! so I'm happy for that and i'm done with this surgery for life! I now accept myself for who i am!
