You mean the 8.5 nail? I think it can take 25lbs per nail. You can calculate how much weight water will reduce using the Archimedes principle. But I think it would be OK to walk in water.

But you will probably have to be submerged neck deep in the water. If half your body is outside then it will still be too much weight for the nails.

Yeah, I'll be using the 8.5 mm nail. I don't know fluid volume of the swimming pool.

It is also going to be extremely hard to get into and out of the pool. Check out Donghoon Lee's facilities. If you can't find a place in Mumbai like that which will safely lower you into the pool I'd reckon it is too risky.

You said you could not go to Giotikas because of EU visa issues. I think it turned out to be a good thing because the Guichet nail has a minimum size of 11mm so you would have probably not been able to get it anyway. So it saved you the trouble of flying there.

I remember Assayag said the 8.5 nail is very flimsy. So take it easy and get around only in a wheelchair. Do you have someone with you for help and have you figured out where you will stay?

I found the facility which can safely lower you into the pool. Here's a photo of the machine that can move you in the pool safely.

Yeah, already moved-in to the place in Mumbai. I also talked to couple of care taker agencies so that's not an issue. I have 2 housemates as well so shouldn't be a problem. I found the facality which can safely lower you into the pool. Here's a photo of the machine that can move you in the pool safely.

That place looks great. Hope you get walk in water.

Are you sharing your house with other patients? Did you find accommodation through an Airbnb or something? Is it wheelchair accessible?
