Internal vs External, and which kinds of nails to avoid?
« on: June 17, 2024, 09:28:54 PM »

Just wondering, but how do people decide if they want external over internal, and vice versa?

Additionally, I know that LON seems to get a bad wrap. Are there other nail types to avoid? Is there one type of nail that's better than all? Or does just depend on what your doctor recommends?

Thanks.

It all depends on your time and budget.

I think Precise 2 is the most popular, in few years it should be Precise Max (apprently full weight bearing). Less common maybe guichet or betz nail, because there only a selected number of surgeons that knows how to use them.

If you go externals, LATN is better because the nail is larger after the distraction is finished and thus more reliable in terms of breaking risk.
