Your Sitting Height Ratio
« on: February 28, 2022, 02:35:37 PM »

I just measured myself again, and wow, my sitting height ratio is crazy high from what I've read.

I am 66.75 inches tall (5'6.75" / 169.5 cm).

My sitting height is 36.75 inches (3'0.75", 93 cm). This puts me at a SHR of ~0.55.

This seems crazy high! I feel like I could lengthen 13 cm and it would look more natural/aesthetic than my current proportions. I have seen the average SHR to be around 0.51-0.52 for adult men?

Anyone have a similar high sitting height ration / had a high sitting height ratio before LL?

Haven't measured it directly, but I really don't see that much variation in sitting height among people both short and tall. Imo the only important factor in proportions is wingspan/height.

I notice the difference in the Sitting height, for example when I sit next to my cousin, who is 10cm taller than me, I realize that when seated he is taller than me, obviously it is normal that this is the case, a taller person will necessarily have a longer Torso.
Instead, in my opinion, the relationship between the torso and the legs is more important, rather than the wingspan, that is, I think the disproportion in the torso is more noticeable, rather than in the arms.

Well for me personally when i sit next to my 5'9 amd 5'10 friends i am clearly half a pinky taller. Nextto my 6'foot friends its really diverse, eitherthe se or they are a bit taller. My femurs and tibias are just short. Besides my clavicler are wider than 9/10 of em.

Quick reminder tho, sitting height has also to do with butt muscles + fat.
Mine is average but has muscles. My torso IS a pinky or half a pinky shorter. But tbh no one has ever noticed if i ever wear elevator shoes.

Another fun fact is that every time i go shopping i can see people being Apo's height with short torsos and very long legs. Never thought anything. Ragarding Apo he is just too narrow.
