Options for post-op care without family
« on: November 20, 2021, 01:44:14 PM »

I am considering getting CLL done at Dr. Betz in Germany, and I'm wondering what are the options for post-op care (after hospital release) for someone who is undergoing this procedure without family assistance. I imagine it is difficult, if not impossible, for someone to take care of themselves all on their own for the first few weeks/months after surgery.

What has your experience been with this? Are there any special physiotherapy institutes where one can check in to avoid the back and forth for physical therapy everyday? How long does it take till one can be independent?

My suggestion is to have enough money so that it is no issue to hire a full-time caretaker if need be for 2-3 months

I have surgery in the near future with Giotikas, and I'm planning to do everything by myself without a caretaker.

How old are the caregivers by average?

This is a question that the operating doctor will be familiar with. They will be able to tell you what caregivers are available, how much they cost, the demographic, etc.
