Suggestions on Exercise equipment to help prepare for surgery
« on: September 22, 2021, 10:18:44 AM »

Hey just wanted to ask if any one has any Suggestions on Exercise equipment to help prepare for surgery. I have a rowing machine but that is about it is there any other equipment that could be beneficial to help stretch the muscles and strengthen the tendons to prepare for maximum length and recovery?

Most of that stuff isn’t anywhere as useful as getting a jump rope, putting it around your foot, lifting your foot off the ground without bending the knee, and then pulling to get the leg as high up as possible.  That alone is 90% of what is useful for femoral lengthening, the hamstrings.  The rest would be quad stretches of your choice.  Leg strength is irrelevant, all that matters is flexibility of the major muscle groups.  Most people who don’t stretch before surgery have tight hamstrings or quads.

For Tibias I have no idea but I’d imagine an hour a day of calf stretches.  Calves seem a lot easier to get into proper shape in a short time period.
