Precise / Stryde Safety
« on: April 20, 2021, 05:02:59 PM »

Hey all,

has it ever happened that the nails lengthened more than what they should have done? Can it happen that a nail would malfunction and extend to its upper limit within seconds or minutes? Or do I simply have a total lack of understanding as to how it works under the hood?

Lengthen more than desired, no
Lengthen less than desired, yes often due to muscle resistance albeit minimal losses
E.g. 8cm desired but reality is 7.7cm, across months, like that
It works by a magnet turning the mechanism that takes minutes to lengthen and takes alot of force and power. It will not lengthen CMs in seconds and deattach and now you have broken femur, no that will not happen. The ERC device would probably mess up your laptops magnet nearby if it had that amount of power to lengthen centimeters in seconds

Thanks :) So there is no microchip or any kind of software inside the nail, correct?

Reason I ask is because I work as a programmer and most programs I’ve encountered are buggy as hell.

corect it is simply a physical telescoping mechanism that only moves when controlled by external magnet erc

I doubt lengthening to the upper limit in minutes is possible, even with mechanical nails. They take the force from the outside movement while with precice/stryde/fitbone the force is through an inside engine, which is better for the body but can malfunction as well.
Runaway nails is when they click uncontrollable through normal movement but extending to the maximum in minutes is impossible I believe, someone correct me if i am wrong.
