Did it give you everything you were hoping for?
« on: August 08, 2020, 11:19:12 PM »

I’ve dealt with the decision to go through with it for years, I’m 5’5, I really just want to get it next summer and get it over with.  Was it everything you wanted? I really hate my height, it might really be the only thing I don’t like about myself, but I feel it pulls a heavy weight in society, a lot more than other physical attributes.  I’ve gone through therapy for years and it didn’t help.  I just can’t accept myself at this height.  Heavily considering getting this soon.

I am having a lot of trouble justifying the surgery for myself even though I hate my height

Haven't done it yet, but am actively saving (currently have 10k set aside).

At the end of the day, you have to live with yourself. You are your own worst critic and you know your own insecurities better than anyone else. Part of having peace of mind is being comfortable in your own skin.

If there's a part of yourself you don't like and you have the means to change it, then do it.

With my personality, either genetic or environmental, I know this surgery won't fix much. I'll still be flawed and shy and broken. 3 inches won't fundamentally change much for me. But it may cure my height neurosis and give me a little bit of confidence. I don't know if I really have to go through this surgery to get that though. I'm in the same dilemma as you man.
