Loan Options-Serious Answers Only, Please
« on: May 21, 2020, 08:22:02 PM »

Hi LL family,
After putting in lot of thought, I have decided to take out a loan for the LL surgery in US(Since I do have the stable job/income to pay off the monthly payments and I dont want to wait another 5/6 years to save up that amount)...According to me , the pros definitely outweigh the cons ...Having said that, does anyone know what my options are if I decide to take out an unsecured loan for $80k.. I did my research and found few options like SOFI, Lightstream..
Any other options? How likely will I get approved if I have 750+ score and 100k + income? Do loans get easily approved?

I took out a $15,000 loan for that extra cushion even though I had enough saved for surgery. Did it through Wells Fargo and was approved easily since my credit score was around 750 even though I only had a 6 year credit history. You may get a lower interest rate with a credit union as opposed to a bank though.

Check care credit out. You should check with your dr participate in credit care. If you are approved they have several options. There some options that if you pay off your debt in certain amount of time, the interest is zero.

I actually used a 14-month 0% APR offer on a couple credit cards to pay a portion of it.  If you can pay it before the promo period expires, it's a great deal.  If you don't, however, the interest rates they start charging are VERY high.

(Research thoroughly if you attempt this.)

Check out some of the fintech companies like SoFi.  A few years ago I was able to get an unsecured loan for $50k from SoFi.  At the time my credit score was in the mid-700's.  Low interest rate and favorable repayment term.  Even if SoFi cannot help you there are competitors who each have a different formula for determining who they loan to.
