I am considering this Doctor too, but I maybe doing it in March/April.    What are your thoughts having consulted those Doctors (salameh/Schmidt, guichet and betz)?

i thought these were the best options to me. Because they are near to my country and i am going to charge the unemployment during the surgery. I think the best options for small tibia lengthening is salamehfix. My goal is 5 cm.

I am also considering to do 5-6 cms in tibias possibly in some years. Considering Dr Jamal's rising prices, the salamehfix becomes an interesting option especially as Dr Salameh operates in my home country Germany. If you decide to go with Salameh, please write a diary!

paco, please could you write about your consultations with all those doctors you mentioned? That would be useful info for quite a few of us.

My diary. Tibias+femurs 3.75+3.75cm at the Paley Institute (5'5" -> 5'8") in my late 30s.
One of the last patients to use the PRECICE 2.2 nail. I met the first STRYDE patient and I strongly recommend the new STRYDE nail instead.

emanuel,

Sorry that this is going to be unrelated to the thread topic, but seeing that you went from 165 to 173 cm (same as my goal), I would like to know how you felt after LL. Did you gain or lose weight? How does your body look now, slimmer than your 165 cm former self? Do you feel taller than most women, and has LL affected your dating life significantly?

Thanks in advance. Cheers  :)

The prices are the same that there are in theirs webs. Guichet 44000 euros and Betz 48500 for femur and 51500 for tibia.
And Salameh is 25000 euros. In this prices only it is the suergery.
For consultation with doctor Guichet 300 euros, doctor Betz 400 and Salameh don"t charged something.

1. I lost weight during LL (dont know how much, maybe 10 kg). Reasons are that for a large part I had very bad appetite and ate much less than usual, and also the fight of the body during LL.
2. Indeed, my body looks considerably slimmer now even after the weight returned. This is a good side effect, also because many people "explain" for themselves the difference of my appearance with the fact that I've gotten slimmer.
3. I am happily married, so I don't care about dating life  :)

Good luck with your LL struggle!

I'm considering Salameh for lengthening my tibiae after my PRECICE femoral lengthening in May 2014, so I will probably go with him in May 2015 if everything goes smoothly.  Would be glad to see you some of you guys there as well.  :)

But most importantly, please keep diaries if you're planning on going with him (or any doctor for that matter)!

I think doctor Birkholtz is a very good option. A very ethics person, but the Precice Price with him is still high to me.

Are you guys aware that you can go for the HLN in india for relatively the same price?

it is internal so you will be in less pain?

And you will not have to wear painful and uncomfortable frames for for 12 months??

You can return to a desk job 6-8 months earlier with HLN vs Salmefix, you can earn a lot of money in that 8 months period if u r emloyed.

I think Salameh is one of the best choice to do LL on tibia now.
India is less safe than germany and i want to try to avoid to have a nail inserted so that i dont suffer from my knee later.
And his device is weight bearing.

Are you aware that Dr. Sarin has yet to have a single successful HLN case?

Getting internals in India is too shady for me to consider an option. If internals are not even approved for use in India, how is Sarin currently offering them and Sringari planning to offer them soon?

Same amount as externals. 1.5 - 2 months per centimeter lengthened is the general amount, but there are variables to consider. They can be worn under pants. http://www.lengthening-sldf.com/index.php?act=open&programid=4

Yeah you can wear pants but wide ones.
If you do around 7 cm you will probably keep the fixator around a year depending on your callus growth.

thats good. I hope to continue my desk job while wearing the salmefix.

Do you have any pictures of a guy wearing wide suite pants.

I want to do 9cm with them but only if if Salameh resumes operating in in Syria to save money

Can you someone please explain where my follow-up consultations will be if I got my surgery in Frankfurt? And where does the doc stay? I didn't read up many Salameh diaries fully, so if someone has, where did those patients stay?

What about 5-6 cm, would be 2 months for lengthening + 10 months consolidation or less?
