Nah it's actually decreasing, unless you are talking about specific well known surgeons. Nowadays you can get a LON surgery at prices we would have never dreamed of back then. Again, I am considering all available surgeons with at least a couple of patients diaries on this forum.

Is that really true though, have you crunched numbers? For a reference, what would you estimate the average price of a LON today compared to a couple years back? And how far back are we talking?

Now that I am thinking about it, I think this whole thread is meaningless. I mean there will always be new doctors with extremely low prices who are  trying to build their reputation. And then there are the already well-known doctors who keep increasing their prices with the improve of their reputations.
But for me I used to only look at the famous doctors because I guess I was new and afraid? But now that I know how things work, I became more willing to go to unpopular surgeons if I like their work based on their patients diaries.

In 2000, the cost of surgery was about $75,000 with Dr. Paley.  The cost is actually going down; since the price tag has remained very close to the same over the past 20 years.

That's some real data. Thanks, IFS.

If we take inflation into account, Paley in 2000 cost 112,000 in 2019 dollars. Then again, today we have doctors like Donghoon where you'll pay up to 130,000 (according to the forum thread here) and other US doctors that cost over 100k. I'm guessing that prices can only "decrease" up to a certain point, since you'll always have to pay for a hospital room and bed, as well as doctors and medical staff. Those prices aren't going down, since their professions are well-paid and their salaries also increase over the years.

This is correct.  The surgeon gets a very small portion of what you pay.  Payley's bank account doesn't go up by even 5 figures when he does a surgery, much less the 6 that it costs the patient.

I do believe the surgery is going down. Of course Paley has this charm to people but Giotikas is actively driving the price down globally and will continue to inspire competition.

I emailed Dr. M the other week and he said that his prices are currently at a discounted rate and that "we hope it will stay discounted in 2020"

I wish I could work for Nuvasive in hopes of getting a discounted rate. I think in time as it continues it can only decrease.... but some definitely do seem like they are trending upwards....  Paley is 97k ????? Wtf

It has increased by $22,000 in 20 years.....a little more than $1000/year.. Paley/St. Mary's is profiting off of psychological self-hatred

LL does not exist in isolation from other healthcare.  Healthcare in general continues to go up in price, and so will LL.

Old methods have been decreasing at an exponential rate.
While new methods have been increasing due to the surgeons gaining experience on them.
On one hand you have a decrease as we are moving away from an iPhone 6 to the NEW technologies (Precise, Stryde) of an iPhone X.
