Visa to United States
« on: November 21, 2019, 04:02:12 PM »

Visa waiver program allows us to stay in United States only for 90 days (if you are from VWP country). I would think you need a week to prepare everything before you get surgery. So you get surgery on the 7th day of landing. Then you wait 7 days for starting lengthening. So you are left with only 76 days? If you take a few slow lengthening days or even have minor complications you will be really short on time. You better run back home as you finish lengthening else you count as overstayed. How do people manage to do LL in US?

Are most members here Americans? Or Canadians (who can stay in US for 180 days  >:( ) ?

The same problem applies to South Korea. You can only stay there for 90 days (again Canadians get 180 days  >:( )

The only alternative is to pre declare you goal of getting limb lengthening and get a medical visa.

I think this is a huge reason why people get LL in their own countries.

Paley, Mahboubian patients - how many foreigners do you see getting this surgery compared to Americans?

Even in Europe we can stay only for 90 days at a time (unless you a EU citizen). How did I not see this problem before?

Also I went through several Paley and Mahboubian diaries and most of them are Americans.

Some reputed doctors on the forum are:

- Paley, Rozbruch, Mahboubian, Debiparshad - United States (we can stay only 90 days)
- Giotikas, Guichet, Betz (all questionable based on diaries though) - Europe (we can stay only 90 days)
- Parihar - India (most can get tourist visa for 6 months very easily)
- Donghoon - Korea (we can stay only 90 days)
- Solomin - Russia (medical visa very easy to get and duration is very long)

It is also strange how there no known doctors in several other parts of the world. It's like there is darkness everywhere except in these few places as far as LL is concerned.

As far as I know, there’s been many International patients who extended stay in Korea for more than 90 days, Donghoons Hops has helpers who take patients to immigration office and extend the visa, also they help to do tax refund.
Patients didn’t need to worry about those paper works

this is cosmetic surgery so a person must throw huge money into this. get a one year or 5 year buisness visa and enjoy your stay in america but only if you are rich.

thanks TemakiSushi. It looks like most people would do this. Have not heard of anyone getting medical visa except to India and Russia. I don't know if Paley also has this arrangement.

there is no one year or 5 year business visa. If you get a business visa you can stay only for 6 months max. But if I apply for business visa they they will ask me why I want to stay for so long when I have VWP and can stay for 3 months without visa. I will have to tell them about medical care for which I will need letter from doctors.
