There's a big difference between acute compartment syndrome and chronic exertional compartment syndrome. My foot and ankle specialist said it's likely a combination of genetics (since plenty get it without undergoing CLL) and CLL making one susceptible to CECS after exercise because the stretched muscles have to work harder than before to move the longer bone segment, creating more compartment pressure. You can't really test for it until you're at a point where you can run though, and most would be unwilling to do fasciotomy until you've gone through an extended leg exercise routine to see if symptoms subside without surgery.
Long story short, acute compartment syndrome is dangerous, CECS is just an annoyance. You are at risk for developing chronic exertional compartment syndrome after stretching your soft tissues lengthening with any body, but it can be solved with fasciotomy.
To the other wuestion, Parihar doesn't seek out patients like some other docs there (notably Sarin) so his name doesn't really come up first when searching for leg lengthening in India. Sarin amd some others also talk to Indian media about doing it for cosmetic reasons so they receive the attention.
