Lengthening and bow legs correction
« on: April 30, 2014, 10:25:59 PM »

I remember reading on old forum  that when you lengthen your tibias it is also possible
to correct bow legs at the same time. Anyone else heard of this?

Yes, the frames are originally designed to correct deformities. Some doctors like to correct it as you are lengthening some like to correct it after you lengthened it. In either case you should have a straighter leg you begin with.

This is only possible with external frames, not internal nails.  A patient who could've gotten the correction only, covered by insurance in the U.S. actually came to China because they could do both simultaneously.

They mean as you have frames on first so it's not fully internal.

The internal nail, despite what some Indian doctors claim, doesn't prevent bowing/x-legs (or a correction of those conditions if you already had them).
