Questions to Leg Lengthening Veterans
« on: September 17, 2017, 09:01:12 AM »

Good morning (or evening if you are in States) everyone
I have 4 specific questions to LL veterans
1)I was thinking about LL's pain and i would prefer to not experience it at the first time when I will do it.
For those that have experienced it,do you think it is any way to reproduce it,or at least have an idea? Don't know, hitting my leg in some ways or moderately injuring myself(i'm not masochist). Is there any "quotidian" pain that is a little bit similar to LL's pain ?
2)It would be a good idea to test all the painkillers (tramadol, ketoprofen ecc) in order to get an idea of how my body react to them ? Also to experience before the LL how bad are their collateral effects
3)I have huge muscular calves due to 10+ years of intense football and aerobic activities. Is there any way to loose muscles ? I searched on Google but didn't find anything
User KiloKhan said that with huge calves,LL experience would be worse
4) I was wondering if anyone of you had experienced during LL muscular cramps like those that happen when you are doing an intense sport activity. Those contractures that last 50/60 sec but are really painful.Because i can't immagine having that uninterruptedly for days...
PS:Bodybuilder,i know you have already answered at 4) so it will be great responding to others 3

LL pain is different for everyone. I've read a diary where another Precice 2 femur patient(I think DoingItForMe?) said he was crying in a hot shower because of the pain. In my case it was super comfortable and I rated the pain 1 or 2/10 throughout.

I'm no doctor but probably not.

LL pain for me was slow and more of an inconvenience. Cramps are immobilizing. Not even close.

If you want to emulate LL, work only your legs out till they're tired as fk, then again and again till you can barely stand. Then attach a 10kg ankle weight and try to walk. This will probably emulate the middle of the recovery period. I don't know how to emulate the pain though.

About the third one, due to heavy football trainings, intense metal music drumming and bodybuilding I had incredibly muscular legs 3 or 4 years ago. I almost couldn't even wear pants. Then I left football, stopped using my legs much and lost like 10-15 kg. They returned normal or even skinny.

So you was pretty much in my same situation...I doubt my legs will ever be skinny,it would require atrophy which is a too extreme method.I'm thinking about somewhat else.I have stopped playing football seriously and now i'm playing ocasionally.Maybe I'll post a picture of my calves
I see you did LL,what do you think about other questions ?

I don't know because I didn't do tibias.

My quads were pretty well built before LL, as in if I flexed them you could clearly see the box that the thigh muscles make. After surgery they went to sh*t in 1 day. ;D

Do you know something o read about fibula's issues ?
I mean it could be a problem if it has non-union ?
I remeber 1 user stated that fibula is a seconday bone because it is also used by docs to make graft bone

Hi all,
I am planning for 6cm bilateral femurs with precise. I'd be grateful if you shared your experience (advice, tips, hints etc) about how to deal with bilateral non-weight bearing and the wheelchair. Many thanks in advance.
