Super short guy
« on: August 04, 2017, 05:41:38 PM »

Kind of new to the forum.
Would it be possible to go from 5'1 to 5'6 or 5'7? Also, any doctors you guys would recommend? ( currently have $15k but still saving )
I'm a 21 year old male 5'1 and 126 lbs. My life's been a living hell being this height and it's kind of gotten worse in college. Every one towers over me even other 'short' guys and the girls. Can't even go into clubs or bars without someone stopping me for my ID. Not a day goes by where no one brings up my height, and girls constantly bring up how 'tiny' i am. My friends constantly having to vouch for me is embarrassing. My other short buddies still taller than me at 5'5 told me to workout and put on some muscles but it still hasn't boosted my confidence. At some point I wen't to get a tattoo done on my throat, and another customer there with her daughter getting her first tattoo had secretly called the cops thinking that i was a minor. Got a second job just to help me save up faster.

What the fk lol.

4 Inches is the absolute limit for LL(if we are talking about lengthening both segments) if you want to function somehow after it.
15k is enough but for only one segment with externals(Ilizarov and it's variations).

Where are you living if i can ask?

There are no absolute limits in LL. Especially the 4 inches you mentioned as most people can do 5 without much problems. Both segments of course.

Hopefullytaller if you push it you can maybe go to 5.6, with about 2.75 inches on femurs and 2.25 on tibias.
It maybe look weird as you are short and your legs would look huge compared to your torso but still wih clothes you probably look ok and at the height you have what matters more is the absolute height, not proportions.

So if you are lucky and have good doctors maybe 5.6 will be possible. It is still short but normallly short, a huge difference comoare your current height.

You can somewhat safely do 7.5cms in the femurs + 6.5 in the tibias = 14cms.

However if I were doing 2 LLs, I'd do 7 + 5.5 = 12.5cms = 5 inches. I wouldn't stretch both segments to the supposed maximum capacity. That's just my opinion. You can reach 5'6 in 2 surgeries, hopefully your proportions allow it. 5'6 is still short but a world away from 5'1.

If you enjoy wrecked proportions and mechanical functions then ye, its a good idea.

Some people really don't imagine what kind of impact and long term consequences this surgery has on one segment not to mention both.

This is true but he is at a height where I would recomend to gamble alot more because ot truely must be real hell to be at that height. At least at 5"5 or 5"6 he could go to asia and be avg height. But this is a case where I cant blame the guy for lengthening more

Everyone is different and all people heal differently. Speaking in absolutes is narrow minded

Bodybuilder is right, everyone is different and if someone is really short then proportions are not that important.

You know the shorter u are the lesser amount of lengthening you can actually do safely?

No amount of height is worth looking like a spider. Especially if that look comes with 150k price on it and with damage that can't be reversed.

Unlike many of us here, he is actually short and completely entitled to have the surgery to gain the maximum amount, as BB said what he should aim is absolute height more than proportions and there is no limit to LL. I think in some countries he is considered a dwarf. Of course the more you lengthen the more you risk and there have been cases of paralysis and permanent nerve damage when going above 20 cm gain.

^^this is the answer.

Also look up Iamready's diary. He did 11 CM.

My best advice is to look into Dr. Parihar for a safe and cheap way to do femurs and get 7 CM done. Penguin's diary is really good for that.

We have basically the same starting height.
I will go for the 6 inches.

Check out this thread.

As you can see, my proportions would look fine. I don't know about your specs, though.
Look for your sitting height, your wing span, your ape index before and after two LLs, and on the overall visual impression.

I too am at 5"1 (154cm) and around the same weight  and understand what you are going through.

I'd like to get LL and will do both segments. I'm hoping to do 5cm Tibia + 7cm femur = 12cm (4.75in). I could stretch it and go further but I'd rather take the less risky option and go a little less. I know I'll be very happy at 5'5" cause I know how big a difference it makes just to wear 2" lifts.

Although, I haven't started saving yet as I have other priorities at the moment. I'm hoping to save over the next 2 years and will look at my options again then.
