Getting Limb Lengthening Surgery
« on: July 10, 2017, 03:56:24 AM »

After months of deliberation, I have finally decided that I want to get limb lengthening surgery, but I do have a few questions.
I am 5'4 and hoping to gain 4 inches to be 5'8. Are there any doctors in the US that would be willing to add 4 inches? Because I know it's recommended not to go above 3 inches. Second, how long would recovery be if I did proceed to gain 4 inches through surgery? Is it possible to get the surgery in early August of this year and be able to walk normally by January? If not, what would the recovery process be like and when could I expect to return to my normal walk? What would you describe the pain to be and what can I do prior to the surgery to ensure quick recovery time?

My real advice (like most other members on here) would be to do your due diligence regarding research.

There is a TON of usage information on here, mostly in the diaries, that will answer all of your questions and more.

Short answers:

1. Lengthening length will depend on type of lengthening you decide on. Most credible doctors worldwide (including US) will highly advise against lengthing 4 inches in one procedure.
2. You will not be walking at all by January muchless walking normally. After 4 inches you'll be lucky if you're walking normally after a year.

I can't speak to your last two questions, but again, if you search the forums you'll find the answers to your questions and most others you'll have.
