Idk why any sports star would lengthen legs or arms unless they have a deformity, but then how would they be playing sports in the first place?

I'm one. Fight me irl bruh I'll kick yo ass.

Seriously though, anyone who's into sports professionally - that is, making profit of it - would be dumb to do this.

No professional athlete could return to a so competitive level after LL.

So I can't see why an athlete would have wanted to do this surgery.

Limb lengthening makes you weak. muscle problems, nerve problems, structural integrity loss.

I'm a non-professional MMA fighter. I'm really expecting to not fight competively anymore after the surgery. I've had a good few years, and now I'm getting a little bit older and I see it as a trade off. I will of course always strive to be in my best shape after the surgery, though. And I will let everyone know what happens in my future diary.

Hmm, I might be tempted to do that. But I would prefer to do it anonymously. I might find a way to post it in my future diary. Like a before and after video, that would be pretty cool. It would take some years in the coming...

There's been a number of broken leg injuries in sports. Obviously, there's no lengthening process after these injuries as they're fixated pretty soon after. But some of these are not the straight (transverse) cuts that occur during LL and when the bone breaks diagonally or in a spiral, they become less stable. Also given that there's actual trauma, there can be soft tissue and nerve damage compared to LL.

For sure, not many athletes return from significant injuries and still have solid careers. Numerous examples, Derrick Rose, Greg Oden, Joe Theismann. Paul George is still an All Star caliber player though. We'll see what happens with Andrew Bogut, though he's not really a star.
