1,5 cm tibia, time frame?
« on: January 10, 2017, 04:00:07 PM »

If you only do one leg tibia to fix a shorter leg, wich method should be best? And how long would it take to walk again?
And at what rate could you lengthen since its pretty small amount?

External fixator, would likely take 25-30 days to lengthen. Then around 6-10 weeks to consolidate depending on your bone growth.

Sounds long for that amount, was thinking--> instant distraction 0,5 cm , wait 1 week then at either ,66mm or ,75mm so 20-22 days but I`m no expert, was just thinking that it was easier to speed up the preocess since its such a small amount?

You possibly can. It depends on the doctor you go to. It also depends on the doctor you get as to how fast you get out of the fixators. Being in fixators really takes its toll mentally and is by far the most uncomfortable and painful way to lengthen
