Internal methods
« on: September 15, 2016, 10:39:15 PM »

Hi, I don't know much about this procedure, but are there any internal methods for the lengthening the shins where I could have all the metal removed after surgery? Or will I have to permanently have metal in my body.

You can take the nail out after your bones fully consolidate. Every internal method is capable of it.

So this means after the bones consolidate I could remove all metal from my body? Meaning, my bones will be fine without ANY metal fixation?

Yes, it's the same process as with externals just well... internally.

Here is good informational video how it works:

That's so cool. Do you know if removing the metal after bone consolidation will increase the change of relapse during strenuous exercise?

With the Precice 2 nail, the nail's taken out around 2 years after the day it was put in. The nail isn't a hindrance though.
