Does Taylor Spatial Frame insert internal rod inside?
« on: June 23, 2016, 03:52:54 PM »

I am aware that TSF is external nail.

However I would like to know if TSF nail inserts nail inside after lengthening?

I am asking because I am looking for an external frame without inserting rod inside

TSF doesn't allow for insertion of nail during lengthening (which is technically called LON - Lengthening Over Nails). However, if you don't wish to wear the frames after lengthening, you can get nail inserted after lengthening is done (which is referred to as LATN - Lengthening and Then Nailing). Most doctors prefer LON over LATN because there is a chance of damaging the newly formed bone if nailing is done post lengthening.
