What age would you all recommend to undergo LL surgery at? I'm currently 19 with a height of 5"7 (170cm)
The medical advancements in today's society also makes me wonder how will the surgery be in let's say 5 years time with all the new medicines and solutions coming out of the medical world to heal bones? I read that there is a special foam agent they use nowadays to consolidate bones in record times these things could all benefit LL surgery if they are not already being used.

Aside from more reliable nails with a lower rate of mechanical issues, I don't see the future of leg lengthening being different. Bone consolidation is one thing, but it's the soft tissues that have the hardest time adapting to the increased length.

tough to say where LL will be in 5 years, but I don't think it will change that much unless a new revolutionary process is invented or something. 

what will change though is that you will be 5 years older and your capacity to recover will be worse.  if you're set on doing LL and have the financial resources, then I'd say the younger you can do it the better.  you'll have a better recovery and be able to enjoy your new height for longer.  if I could go back in time and if my parents were rich (they're not so I had to save up for LL) I'd have taken a year off before college for LL

I'm 30 years old now, I wish I did it at 23 when I learned about this. The money situation was never ideal unfortunately
