Anyone over 50 had done ll ?

I'm 52yo and thinking about ll . Does anyone had done it ? Any informations?

There's some people in 40s who have done it. I believe Stripes who is lengthening In Russia said there was an older person there who may be in his 50s. PM stripes.

Damn, and I thought I did this late in life.

I know Jungle (on EmEmTee) did his last LL when he was 45. "Last" because he did it THREE F.UCKING TIMES! Kind of insane, right? I truly respect his determination, though. I can't even imagine doing it twice.

All the best to you...if you do this, luck. The aches and pains might be a little amplified for you compared to a lot of patients. When I met with Sarin, he was trying to tell me that I probably wouldn't be able to lengthen very much...saying most older guys "give up in the middle". He was wrong, though

39. I was in good health, and had very good flexibility, but I downplayed my ankle injury.

I asked my new ortho if old age played a part in my non-union, but he thinks it's more likely because of the Vitamin D deficiency. One thing that sucks now is that there's a lot more aches and pains and slower recovery from soreness in your 40s. And I can't take any f.ucking Ibuprofen!

I am 41 and considering LL, so that worries me a little bit... ;)

Hi - I was 48 when I did 5.7 cm on R Femur.
Check my posts - it was no cakewalk, still stiff all the time, not able to fully squat, noisy knees, sore outside distal femur - will do L Fem maybe Next year (at age 50 or 51)

Wow, Aim. Much respect. That's another thing that can happen so easily when you're older: osteoarthritis. I won't know if mine will just be noise until I recover from today's procedure. Why did you just do your R? Discrepancy?

I just felt no matter how I looked after myself some tall guy would always get the Opportunity/Kudos/attention/Respect, even my beautiful wife told me she likes tall guys, and my Mum lamented over how tiny I was (170 cm, 60 kg) its not right, and I shouldnt have let it get to me -  but I was tired of it all, and I thought if you cant beat 'em them join 'em.
I lengthened one leg only cause I had just (two weeks before) a spinal fusion. and I was allready quite disabled, so after R Femour surgery having one strong leg when alone in the hotel room in Barcelona was a God send.

Just wanted to ask the same thing. Why only one leg. So, you will lengthen your left femur soon as well? I guess you don't want to have different sized legs for ever, do you?

Will lengthen other Femur next year, I was originally planning for much earlier, but my personal (and financial)  situation deteriorated.
Getting around with one 5cm platform shoe is not great, its physically and socially awkward, and may be related to the knee pain I am currently experiencing ?.
Bear in mind this was my choice, but some people are born this way, so in comparison I have had 48 years of relative physical freedom to move/run/play sport/walk on the beach etc, so I am one of the luckyones  :)

It's an interesting idea. I guess the lenghtening and consolidation time is much easier if you still have one good leg to rely on. On the other hand, I'd be scared that I would never be able to do the other leg as well for the same reasons you cited.

If I may ask, Aim:

Do you mean you had some vertebrae fused due to an injury?...just TWO WEEKS prior?? And your LL surgeon was OK with doing your procedure when you were still recovering/disabled?

Nahh my Surgeon was not told how recent my spinal surgery was, but the 14 hour flight was a killer 😨
